2014 PG Underclass All American Games

West Team Highlights
8/12/2014 9:32:35 AM
2016 SS Nick Quintana (Las Vegas, NV) showed impressive all around tools and was the top prospect of the morning. He went 0-for-2 with a walk but each of his two loud outs were a couple of degrees of a less severe launch angle away from being home runs, resulting in fly ball hangtimes of 5.67 and 6.19 seconds. He also showed off big range and arm strength with carry on his accurate throws defensively and was the top prospect of the East vs West game.

2017 RHP/OF Kyle Hurt (Torrey Pines, CA) was very impressive in his three innings on the mound. He allowed one hit and didn't walk a batter while punching out four over three scoreless. He sat 84-88 with big sinking life and pounded the arm side corner consistently and flashed the ability to locate glove side as well. He certainly looks the part at a strong athletic 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds and his arm works well, he added a hard spinning 77 mph curveball flashing 12-6 break at times and flashed a promising changeup.

2016 OF Mickey Moniak (Encinitas, CA) came up with the game winning hit, a bases loaded double in the 9th inning to give the West a 6-3 lead that they would go on to protect. Moniak has a short quick swing and is a good athlete who projects well.

2016 OF Geoff McCalley (San Diego, CA) went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, depositing three singles into the pullside gap in right  center.

2017 SS Zach Sehgal (La Jolla , CA) went 0-for-3 at the plate but competed well in his at-bats and has good tools to project upon, both at the plate, and especially at shortstop.
