Widimer Juaquin Aquino is a 2017 3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and plenty of present strength proportioned throughout frame. Primary third baseman, good energy moving towards the ball and fields out front, extra steps upon release, deliberate tempo to actions with balance, full arm action and shows the arm strength for left side, solid carry out of hand from a quick release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high back elbow in the box, uses a leg lift trigger for timing at start of swing. Has pre-pitch hand movement but comes out of it well, shows fluidity and leverage to swing path with plenty of looseness. Occasionally off timed with leg lift but shows present pop to the pull side, incorporates physical strength well into swing. Already shows well and still projects nicely with the bat. Named to World Showcase Top Prospect List.
