Loyal Martin is a 2019 1B/ with a 5-10 190 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Oaks Christian. Medium frame with a solid, athletic build. Present strength throughout frame, projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.35 sixty yard dash. Primary first baseman, shows clean glove actions while funneling the baseball with developing fluidity. Deliberate glove to hand exchanges while working through transition. Fundamental feet while working around the bag to receive throws, some range when coming off the bag. Extended arm cirlce at separation and release from a low three-quarters arm slot. Throws produce some on line carry across the infield with accuracy. Left handed hitter with a narrow, open stance and high back elbow at load. Hands start at a forward position before working back at load. Primarily used a mid-field to pull side approach. Swings with intent and turns the barrel to contact at times producing solid bat speed and strength to the pull side gap. Consistently squared up contact during batting practice. Good student as well.
