Waylon Pettijohn is a 2017 2B with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Selah, WA who attends Selah HS. Medium frame with lean, athletic build; body projects well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.31 seconds. Sets up to hit from tall, narrow-based stance; simple leg lift trigger, quiet hand load. Swings the bat hard with intent, slightly lofted path with good leverage at contact, strength off the barrel with good jump, compact stroke, centering the ball consistently and can backspin it up the gap. Projects for both average and power. Smooth footwork in the outfield, fields cleanly with set feet, longer and fuller arm action with good strength, clocked up to 85 MPH. Surrounds the ball well in the infield, clean funnel out front, athletic actions side to side with range, accuracy across with some zip on throws, clocked up to 79 MPH. Named to 2016 Sunshine West Top Prospect List.
