Logan Allen is a 2017 2B/UT with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Magnolia, TX who attends Magnolia. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout, loose athlete with quick-twitch muscle. Posted a 6.83 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet and shows range going up the middle, bounce to step with light footwork, comes thorugh the ball well and picks backhand cleanly, short and compact arm action on throws across diamond, gets on top and shows accuracy. Versatility to play outfield, fields out front, quick-twitch plays to mechanics, moves well and repeats actions, quick transfer and release, solid arm strength and carry to the intended base, accurate throws. Also pitched, high leg kick with a hip coil at top of delivery, comes out with an on line stride, similar short and compact arm action on the mound, fastball comes out clean and topped out at 86 mph. Stays tall through backside, shows ability to work down in the zone, sharp curveball with depth and 12-6 shape. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and uses a high leg lift trigger for timing mechanism. Upper body swing with line drive swing plane, shows a handle for the barrel and made consistent in game contact. Shows fluidity to swing path, quick hips, creates steady contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field, projects nicely with additional strength. Excellent student. Named to South Top-Top Prospect List.
