2015 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Doug Gragg is a 2016 C/1B, 3B with a 6-0 215 lb. frame from Stevenson Ranch, CA who attends West Ranch HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout, mature build and look. Ran a 7.99 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front, higher set behind the plate, short and compact arm action with low effort release, gets on top of throws and shows easy release, accurate and consistent throws, projects for more with incorporation of lower half. Right-handed hitter, starts with a square stance and a medium hand set in the box. Starts with hands pull back deep, short and very direct to ball, physicality plays in with with ability to whip barrel through the zone. Does a nice job of remaining balanced throughout swing, hit a home run in batting practice to all three fields showing equal jump and carry off the barrel to each part with leverage at contact. Named to West Coast Top Prospect List. Good student.
