Jake DePiero is a 2016 RHP/C with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends Walker HS. Primary pitcher with long frame and developing, lean projectable build. Has solid athleticism and looseness in his actions, movements. Uses, extended arm-action and works to a deceptive lower 3/4 arm slot. Fastball up to 78 mph, has solid running action to armside and can be difficult on right handed hitters. Showed ability to mix in two breaking balls, a developing curveball in low-60's with 11/5 shape and a upper-60's slider with solid tilt. Also mixed in a changeup with fading action, could improve with more armspeed. Also worked behind the plate, showed off solid arm, accurate throws. Right handed hitter, has quiet setup and uses a middle of field approach with ability to hit the ball to opposite field. Very good student.
