Zach Chappell is a 2018 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL who attends Ponte Vedra HS. Chappell has a medium sized frame with some strength. Defensively he attacks the baseball well in the outfield and has good outfield actions. He plays through the baseball well and has a good idea of what he's doing out there with arm strength up to 84 MPH. At the plate, Chappell starts with a tall upright stance and a lower hand set. He takes a quick stride to start his swing and he showed some hand quickness. Chappell swings on a line drive plane and he showed developing barrel feel. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action. Chappell has a balanced easy delivery and showed the ability to repeat it. He showed some pitchability and has projectable velocity. Chappell threw a 1/7 curve ball with good shape and spin to it. He's a strike thrower who showed feel for his breaking ball. Chappell is a solid two-way guy who projects best on the mound from this event. Very good student.
