Matthew Stary is a 2017 SS/RHP/OF with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Cypress Falls HS. Has a large frame, an athletic build, and room to continue to put on additional muscle. Posted a 6.76 second sixty yard dash. From the infield, showed solid actions and makes all the plays, compact arm action on throws with carry across. From the outfield, also made accurate, online throws with consistent mechanics. At the plate, has an upright stance and a relaxed hand set. Has a short, compact swing with good pop off the barrel and bat speed in his middle of the field approach. Has a nice rhythm and weight shift into contact, good speed down the line. On the mound, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a deep arm circle through the back. Lands slightly closed and still gets solid extension out front. Arm stays quick and loose. Curveball has slurvy shape with solid spin. Good student. Named to 2016 Sunshine South Top Prospect List.
