Gage Young is a 2019 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Murfreesboro, TN who attends Ensworth HS. Large frame with athletic build; body projects well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.96 seconds. Switch-hitter, tall/open stance from right side of the plate with big shift into contact, shows loose hands in swing path with solid bat speed. Double-tap trigger from left side, inside-out hand path with knob leading barrel, better barrel control from left side with better results as well; was able to work to all fields. Worked out defensively at 1st base, quick footwork around and off of the bag, shows good bend at waist to field, makes good plays, strong arm across the diamond clocked up to 76 MPH. Pitched as well, very fast worker on the mound, very quick arm with compact arm stroke, fastball worked 73-75 MPH with good sink. Low effort delivery with good direction. Showed 11/5-shaped curveball with big shape and depth; also flashed changeup with short fade. Did a good job throwing strikes. Good student.
