Andres Machado is a 2017 SS with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Coral Gables, FL who attends Gulliver Schools. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and room throughout frame to gain additional strength in the future. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, shows sound actions moving to the ball, good arm strength across the diamond and ball comes out of hand well, hands play at the ball, occasionally gets under ball on throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and wide base with a relaxed set at the plate. Shows quickness to hands and does a nice job of gets hip through and incorporating lower half. Aggressive approach, short and inside swing with a sound feel for the barrel and consistent feel for the barrel. Good mechanics and repeats them well, has the ability to go with the pitch to any part of field. Very good student.
