Carlos Calvillo is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Pearland, TX who attends Galena Park HS. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build, high waist, and room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball with active feet, fields out to side, full arm action through back, comes out of hand well, shows good momentum through the ball and projects for more arm strength. Also pitched, short arm action through the back coming to three-quarters arm slot, stays low through drive towards plate with looseness in arm. Lands online with lower half, slight cross body finish gives fastball cutting life at 76 mph, showed curveball at 67 mph with 11-5 shape and short depth. Slider more firm with tilt. Righthanded hitter, starts with a wide, slightly crouched base and medium hands set. Upper body swing with still lower half, line drive swing plane, keeps hands inside on the ball. Showed comfort handling the barrel, contact approach, bat speed projects with additional strength, can work to opposite field with line drive contact.
