Jason McKay Barney is a 2019 OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Mesa, AZ who attends Mountain View HS. Medium athletic build, projects well physically. Very good runner, 6.80 in the sixty and 4.21 home to first from the left side. Shows athleticism in the outfield with good actions to the ball and a smooth arm action and release on his throws from a high 3/4's arm slot, makes accurate on line throws. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread open stance, tends to open up early with his front side and pull off the ball, will need to learn to stay back and directional, uses his hands well in his swing and handles the barrel, has some young bat speed with more to come as he gets stronger. Very good student.
