Michael Cooper is a 2017 OF/1B, 3B with a 6-5 180 lb. frame from Missouri City, TX who attends Ridge Point High School. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders, high waist, and long limbs with present physical strength and room to fill throughout. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, deliberate actions moving to the ball with balance and short steps, fields the ball out front and funnels into a compact arm actions, mostly upper body used at release, shows present arm strength and accuracy, will continue to develop with additional lower half incorporated. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a high back elbow and an upright stance in the box. Very simple set of mechanics that can be repeats, easy and low effort swing coming through with a simple trunk rotation. Short path to the ball and generates a strong launch angle, ball jumps hard given easy of swing, interesting power potential moving forward. Good student. Named to South Top-Top Prospect List.
