John McPherson is a 2014 RHP with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Texarkana, TX who attends Pleasant Grove. Big frame, lean athletic build, broad shoulders, projectable strength. Pitches from high three quarters arm slot, uses lower half well in delivery. Good follow through, finishes pitches, works fast, has an idea how to pitch, works both sides of the plate, downhill plane, good depth on breaking ball. Rotational swing, line drive plane, short to the ball, solid contact skills, short stride, gets leverage, good extension. Accurate infield throws, solid defensive actions. Very good student.
