Benjamin Hawkins is a 2014 C/OF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Argyle, TX who attends Liberty Christian. Hawkins showed very good arm strength behind the dish although he does need to quicken his release some. He is athletic behind the plate and also receives and blocks well. Has the tools to be a very good defensive catcher. He showed good bat speed and made consistent hard contact and showed good power potential. He hit well in games and drove the ball to all fields with a fluid stroke and he creates leverage in his swing. Very interesting bat and defensive catcher to watch very closely potential high level tools.
