Darien Simms is a 2014 OF/P with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Northland Christian. Simms has a smaller frame with a lean wiry build. He has a long arm action from the outfield with arm strength and some carry. Simms has a loose arm action with projectable velocity. He has good outfield actions with quick transfers. At the plate, Simms starts with an open stance and swings from a crouch. He maintains balance through his swing and is short to the baseball. Simms generates good bat speed and has a line drive approach. He pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a slinger arm action. He throws a 2/8 curve ball with good bite and throws it for strikes. Excellent student.
