Derek Ordaz is a 2019 3B/RHP with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Barbara Goleman HS. Recorded a 7.54 second 60-yard dash time. Large frame with present strength and physicality on the build. Primary third baseman with a wide base to setup. Smooth actions with easy footwork and glove actions. Accurate throws and transfers the ball quickly. Can throw from multiple arm slots and maintains body control well on the run. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a smooth delivery and leg lift just above the waist. Stays tall on the backside and utilizes a quick and tighter arm action. Three-quarter arm slot and can create some plane down in the zone. 10/4 action on the curveball with sweeping action. Righthanded hitter with present bat speed and a leg lift trigger into the swing. Swing will get long at times but has enough bat speed to compensate. Spread open start who showed natural leverage in the swing. Intriguing power potential. Swings with intent and an easy trigger into the swing. Named to the 2017 Florida Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
