Matt Hudgins is a 2015 OF/C with a 5-9 185 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Bishop Gorman. Compact frame, thick strong muscular build. Hits from an open stance, strides even, strong rotational swing with solid bat speed and good strength at contact, ball jumps when squared thanks to good incorporation of strong lower half, creates lift in swing. Good extension to throws form the outfield with sound throwing mechanics, good carry and accuracy to throws, efficient action and takes good routes. Gets most out of his raw tools and they played up a bit in game action at this event. Excellent student. Named to the Sunshine West Top Prospect Team.
