Joe Davis is a 2015 C/1B/3B with a 6-0 220 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Bowie HS. Thick extra strong build. Right handed hitter, long extended swing with a high extended finish, swings hard and tries to pull and lift, uppercut swing plane, big power when squared but will have to shorten up against quality stuff, tends to get off balance on off speed stuff. Strong arm behind the plate, good hands receiving the ball, can improve lower half quickness and shifting ability. Key to development will be making adjustments to hit quality stuff, has the raw bat speed and power. Good student, verbal commitment to Houston.
