John Devine is a 2016 OF/RHP/3B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Powder Springs, GA who attends Hillgrove HS. Medium, lean, athletic build and has room to get stronger. Ran a 7.07 60 yard dash. Has a short outfield arm action and above average present arm strength. Stays tall on his throws, projects to improve. Bats right-handed, works from a slightly open, crouched stance and stays inside the ball consistently. Hits line drives to the opposite field. Simple swing and a simple approach. Aggressive, intelligent base runner. Also took the mound, reached 80 mph with his fastball from a three-quarter arm slot. Works from the stretch. Uses a quick tempo and flashes 11-5 curveball depth. Also mixes a 72 mph changeup. Named to the National Underclass Showcase Main Event Top Prospect Team.
