Jack Aldrich is a 2017 LHP/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Oak Park, CA who attends Oaks Christian HS. Medium frame, lean build, has added to strength over last year, should continue to do so without issue. Clean delivery, maintains good balance and body control after loading on backside. Compact arm-action, hides ball well and works to 3/4's arm slot. Could use lower half more to get better extension, but throws strikes with fastball in low-80s. Will work to both sides of plate with heater, shows both cut and armside run depending on location. Go-to secondary pitch is curveball with 1/7 break and late depth, has good feel for offering and will use in all counts. Athletic actions, looseness in movement in the outfield, solid arm strength with accurate throws to bases. Left handed hitter, slightly open stance, shifts into contact can off balance at times. Shows solid barrel skills with efficient, short swing path geared toward line drives, occasionally will cut self off in finish. Good student.
