Quinn Smith is a 2016 C/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Rocky Face, GA who attends McCallie School. Large frame, strong athletic build. Hits from a spread stance, line drive swing plane with late lift, good bat speed, gets extended through contact and utilizes leverage. Repeats swing well, gap power, quick hands, pull approach. Quick arm, good direction in catch and throw mechanics, good carry to throws, popped a 1.93 in the catcher workout. Also pitched and ran fastball up to 86 mph from a three quarters arm slot, loose easy arm action, good pitchability and threw consistent strikes from a smooth balanced delivery. Projects well on the mound and with the bat. Good student. Named to the Southeast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect Team.
