Preston Hoffart is a 2018 C/3B with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Conroe, TX who attends Magnolia High School. Mature build, medium frame with compact lower half and present strength in his frame. Posted a 7.83 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, high set up, showed a quick and clean transfer with accuracy to the bag. Posted a top pop time of 1.90 in workouts. Also worked out in the infield, showed a clean release of the ball with balance and athleticism when ranging to both sides. At the plate, started with a wide, base, high back elbow and utilized a toe tap timing mechanism. Showed a short, compact swing with an equally short path and intent to drive. Flashed ability to drive the ball off the barrel, inconsistent timing at present. Exceptional student.
