Nick Sunday is a 2017 OF/RHP, SS with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Oologah, OK who attends Collinsville High School. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with plenty of room to fill moving forward. Strong runner, posted a 6.81 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields that ball out front and shows a short crow hop moving into release, deep arm action through the back but shows arm quickness to come through well, gets on top and shows solid present carry and strength to the bag with accuracy, projects for more with additional lower half. Also pitched, deliberate tempo to delivery, high leg kick up past belt before breaking into a short and compact arm action, gets to a three-quarters arm slot and generates downhill plane to fastball. Showed most comfort working to arm side, topped out at 82 mph and showed ability to challenge in. Curveball picked up swings-and-misses, up to 71 mph with late snap and 11-5 shape. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and high hand set in the box, slightly open stance and gets closed with toe tap trigger. Line drive swing plane and stays inside the baseball, full path through the zone with a simple load moving into contact. Sound path and shows a feel for the barrel and ability to repeat, best carry comes to pull side when squared off the barrel. Good student. Named to South Top-Top Prospect List.
