2017 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase
Joe Muzio is a 2018 3B/RHP, 1B, MIF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Rockport, MA who attends St. John's Preparatory. Large frame with athletic build, good combination of present strength and projection. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.33 seconds. Cocks hands back into load when hitting with toe tap trigger, shows very good bat speed with smoothness to stroke, shifts well into contact, sinks hips well and gets the barrel out, does a good job making consistently firm line drive contact to all fields. Worked out in the infield, light on feet with good actions throughout, moves well to both sides, fields cleanly and showed 80 mph arm across the diamond. Pitched as well, compact arm stroke with crossfire delivery, mostly on time, fastball worked 75-79 mph with good sink from high three quarters arm slot. Fastball is tough to square. Showed curveball with 11/5 shape and good depth, does a good job messing up timing of opposing hitters. Named to 2017 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List; good student.
