Chase Brantley is a 2016 C/RHP with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Zebulon, NC who attends East Wake School Of Arts Education And Global Studies. XL frame with solid build throughout; good remaining projection on frame. Hits from wrapped start, crouched stance with wide base, incomplete shift into contact but generates solid bat speed, good barrel control with ability to match plane, swing has loft, squared the ball up consistently with present gap power, will unlock more power with more complete weight transfer. Worked out defensively behind the plate. Crouched over in set, stands straight up to throw down to 2B, solid footwork, gains ground well, shows solid arm strength down to 2B up to 70 MPH and popping as low as 2.09 seconds. Pitched as well, showing long arm action with exaggerated arm cock at top of circle, near overtop slot with downhill plane, FB worked 73-75 with good natural heaviness. Showed CB with good depth and 12/6 shape; also flashed SL with good tilt and some sharpness. Threw strikes consistently. Good student.
