Bryce Martinez is a 2016 OF/RHP, SS with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Victoria, TX who attends Victoria East. Medium, athletic build with a lean, projectable build and room to fill out with added strength. Good runner, posted a 6.97 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, short and quick steps to the ball, gets on top of throws well with a quick arm and nice carry. Showed well in the infield also, solid range to both sides with soft hands and is good with his backhand. Full arm action with strength that will continue to develop at both positions. Also pitched, throws from an over the top arm slot with a short arm action in the back. Topped out at 79 mph with his fastball and showed a strong feel for his 12-6 curveball with depth and serves as his out pitch, getting swings and misses with the pitch. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set near his head and uses a leg kick trigger. Upper body swing, gets the barrel through the zone and creates contact out front. Balanced stance, shows ability to cover the plate well and go with the pitch and hit to all fields. Named to South Underclass Top Prospect List. Good student.
