2015 West Coast Underclass Showcase
Logan Cole is a 2017 C/IF, OF, RHP with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Livermore, CA who attends Livermore HS. Medium, athletic build with present strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, pops out of crouch well, shows a short and quick arm action while getting on top of throws well, gets too quick at times with footwork but has solid arm strength to second and popped a 1.92. Fields the ball out front in the infield with a wide basel, quick transfer and release, glove plays at ball and picks well, strength plays on left side, gets on top and shows accuracy. Also pitched, high leg lift with hip turn at top, hides the ball well, loose and easy arm stroke with solid arm speed working to a high three-quarter release. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, flashes cutting life with ability to get to glove side with deception. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with depth and rotation, can throw fro strikes. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and hands pulled back close to body. Very short and direct barrel path to ball, line drive contact coming off with jump to pull side. Short follow through, uses a knee list trigger, line drive swing plane with a feel for the barrel. Named to West Coast Underclass Top Prospect List. Good student.
