Cameron Powell is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from McKinney, TX who attends Mckinney Boyd. Large, athletic build with broad shoulders and nice present strength on his build. Ran a 7.72 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a full arm action in the back. High leg lift delivery, shows a nice feel on the mound with pitchability. Stays online through delivery with an extended arm action and arm speed coming through, some effort at release. Fastball topped out at 84 mph with downhill plane and shows sinking action on the pitch with ability to spot to both sides. Slider shows tilt and 11-5 life with nice spin at 72 mph. Left-handed hitter, starts with a high back elbow and an open stance. Barred start, stays balanced through swing, creates contact to all fields with hard line drive contact to pull side when he gets arms extended. Named to South Underclass Top Prospect List. Good student.
