Matt Ranson is a 2016 RHP/ with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Port Charlotte, FL who attends Port Charlotte High. Medium frame with solid present build and quality projection remaining on body. Athletic throughout body and the athleticism carries over into delivery. Pitches with longer arm action with exaggerated stab in the back up to high 3/4 slot. FB worked in low-mid 80's, topping at 85 MPH with natural heaviness down in the zone. FB shows quality running and sinking action when located down. Lots of moving parts in delivery. Uptempo delivery, showed CB to complement FB as secondary pitch. Curveball was thrown in low 70's with good depth and solid spin, was able to command curveball to both sides of the plate pretty well. Consistently threw strikes with both pitches though the FB would creep up in the zone at times. Good student.
