Austin Blake is a 2019 OF/ with a 6-0 207 lb. frame from Lexington, KY who attends Lafayette. Medium frame with an athletic build and present strength. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.36 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder, surrounds baseball from a slightly deeper position. Deliberate footwork while closing on the baseball. Clean glove actions while pickup baseball and working through exchange. Extended arm circle back at separation and releases from a three-quarters arm slot, topped at 78 mph. Throws produced some carry with accuracy to the bag. Left handed hitter with a spread, straight stance and forward and set. Hands get load back as weight shifts back raising back elbow to a higher set as well. Lower half launches with rotational actions to contact producing some shift. Turns the barrel well with a line drive plane producing hard contact to the pull side gap when squared. Consistently squared up contact with flashes of bat speed. Showed smoothness when hands were on time and working between the baseball to the middle of the field. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
