John Savino is a 2016 RHP/3B, 1B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Mendham, NJ who attends Seton Hall Preparatory. Medium, athletic build with room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, works from a three-quarter arm slot with a long arm action in the back. Drop and drive delivery towards the plate. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, worked in the 75-79 mph range and shows the ability to generate sinking action and cutting action to fastball, misses bats with the pitch. Shows a slider at 72 mph with some depth to it. Soft hands in the infield, short arm action with strength and accuracy on throws across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts with a balanced set up and uses a leg lift trigger for timing. Upper half swing, creates consistent line drive contact, good extension through the zone, uses hands well, gets to front side early, shows some pop in swing. Very good student.
