Jose Palomo is a 2016 3B/SS, RHP, OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Encinitas, CA who attends La Costa Canyon HS. Medium, athletic frame with present strength throughout frame, strong lower half. Ran a 7.48 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, moves well on feet and shows some range up the middle, tight arm action through the back, gets on throws and works through it, effort at release but shows accuracy. Also pitched, begins with a high leg kick up past belt, stays tall on backside, short stride down the mound with a short arm action coming to a high three-quarter arm slot. Gets on top of fastball and generates downhill plane, topped at 74 mph, mostly true in life. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with depth at 63 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide, crouched base and a high hand set. Small leg lift trigger, full swing path through the zone with some separation and lift at contact. Line drive swing plane with bat speed through the zone, shows strength at contact and carry to either gap.
