Pete Derkay is a 2016 C/OF, 3B with a 5-10 210 lb. frame from Acworth, GA who attends Allatoona. Medium frame, thick strong build. Impressive switch hitter with big power potential from the left side. Crushed a couple of balls off the wall in batting practice from the left side and carried it over into games, even showing opposited field power burning the left fielding in a left handed game at-bat. Less advanced right handed but has strength and bat speed from that side as well and has a chance to develop. Moves well behind the plate with good agility as a receiver, strong arm behind the plate, short arm action, can utilize lower half better to improve release time, good accuracy in game throws. Also showed solid arm from the outfield with good actions and accurate throws with good release time. Good student. Named to the Southeast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect Team.
