Nicholas Mougin is a 2016 RHP/3B/C with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Walford, IA who attends Prairie HS. Medium long limbed athletic build, projects well physically. Compact arm action in back, high 3/4's arm slot, gets good use of his lower half, tends to fall off to first base on release. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, mostly straight. Curveball is his best pitch and he uses it frequently with feel and confidence, tight rotation with a sharp late bite, good 11/5 depth at times, commands both pitches pretty well. Right handed hitter, long extended swing, swings hard and creates some bat speed, flashed his power potential. Long actions behind the plate but shows his athletic ability, good arm strength with accurate throws, 2.06 best pop time, has two way potential as a pitcher/catcher. Good student.
