Matthew Portis is a 2015 SS/RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Sebring, FL who attends Sebring. Portis a medium build with room to fill out. Hits from an open stance. Line drive swing plane with good bat speed. Fluid swing over all with a good approach and shows gap to gap pop. Doesn't try to do to much at plate, makes good contact. defensively. Good feet and hands, fields ball out front. Also pitches, good lower 1/2 with good leg drive and stays online to plate. Shows ability to cut fastball, will need to continue to develop off speed pitch to go along with fastball. Outstanding student.
