Austin Simms is a 2014 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Blue Springs, MO who attends Blue Springs South. Simms has a large frame with a strong build. he pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long loose arm action. Simms has an easy arm action and the ball comes out of his hand well. He stays tall on the backside and gets good use from his legs in his delivery. Simms has a smooth easy delivery and repeats it. He throws a 10/4 slow curveball at 68 MPH. He also throws a change up at 74 MPH with good action on it. His change up is his best pitch and it has deception to it. Defensively Simms has solid actions at 1B and is athletic. He has good hands and moves well around the bag. At the plate, Simms starts with a slightly open stance and has a quiet set up. He has a simple swing with some bat speed.
