Alex Gionis is a 2015 SS/OF, RHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Carrollwood Day. Tall, lean, wiry build with above average athleticism. Ran a 6.82 60 yard dash. Bats right-handed, works from a quiet approach and takes very aggressive swings. Makes consistent, hard line drive contact and shows above average bat speed. Knows how to use the opposite field and consistently hits up the middle. High upside hitter who makes loud contact. Makes online, accurate throws across the diamond and from the outfield. Has the hands to play shortstop and moves through the ball well. Also took the mound, touches 81 mph from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball shows late life. Excellent student.
