Johnny Rizer is a 2015 OF/LHP with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cy-Fair HS. Solid athletic build, has some present strength. Left handed hitter, spread stance, quick hands with present bat speed, hits from above the ball, hard line drive contact to all fields, nice extension out front, showed his power, best power pulling, very good overall approach. 6.95 runner, confident actions in the outfield, moves to the ball well, some effort throwing but is accurate with very good arm strength, centerfield tools. Also pitched, crossfire delivery, 3/4's slot, creates angle, arm works well, some effort on release. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, curveball had tight spin and a short hard break, developing feel for a change up. Lots of tools along with some physical projection. Good student. Verbal commitment to Louisiana-Lafayette.
