2003 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase
Carignan is an "04" P/C with one of the best arms in the country. At 5'11/185 he appears to be ideal catching size. He's a catching prospect who can swing the bat, but he's even better on the mound. In Wareham he threw 93 without a whole lot of effort. We've seen him in the mid 90s before. His breaking ball fluctuates from high 60s to mid 70s and his change up was in the upper 70s. Lets just say that this kid has one very very special arm. If he were a bit taller, he would be a sure fire early draft pick. He might be anyway. It's fun to watch him throw. Andrew is also very good in the class room. He carries a 3.63 GPA with an 1100 SAT.
