2017 Top Prospects

Jacob Terao  C - 2017 - Seattle, WA
Portland

A strong 5-foot-11, 195-pound righthanded hitter, Terao impressed throughout the weekend with his bat, both in batting practice and against live pitching. A 6.96 60-yard runner, Terao showed nice bat speed through the zone and consistently connects for hard contact to his pull side showing lift and the ability to backspin as his home run in batting practice put on display.

Syler Shepherd  OF - 2017 - Flower Mound, TX
Weatherford College

Shepherd had a very solid showcase in a variety of ways. The primary catcher popped as low as a 1.96 in defensive drills, and the ball comes out of his hand well. Shepherd also really showed well with the bat, displaying a very level, line-drive swing plane. He also ran a 7.04 second 60-yard dash, a very solid time for a primary catcher.

Connor Denning  C - 2017 - Phoenix, AZ

Denning is an athletic middle infielder who showed well in every facet of the showcase. After throwing an impressive 85 mph across the diamond Denning showed similar arm strength on the mound topping out at 85 mph with a low-70s curveball. His righthanded swing also stood out for the strength he's able to generate at contact with nice extension out front.

Jarrett Diego (JD) Brooks  3B - 2017 - Las Vegas, NV
College of Southern Nevada

Brooks is a physical 6-foot-2, 195-pound third baseman who put his arm strength on display all weekend and all over the field. After running a 7.04 and throwing both 86 across the infield and 85 from the outfield, Brooks impressed on the mound with his fastball that topped out at 86 mph with late running life down in the zone to his arm side.

Brock Burton  2B - 2017 - Phoenix, AZ
Grand Canyon

A primary second baseman, Burton began his showcase by turning in one of the top 60-yard dash times with a 6.88. A lefthanded hitter, Burton showed both looseness and fluidity in the batters with natural lift to his pull side while displaying a feel for the barrel and ability to go to the opposite field.

John Patrick (JP) Flores  SS - 2017 - Valencia, CA
Occidental College

Flores has very smooth actions in the infield. The primary shortstop moves well to either side and he has quick hands and an easy release. The compactly-built athlete has very good body control and he knows how to play to his strengths at the plate. The righthanded hitter has a contact-oriented approach and looseness, fluidity in the swing plane.

Hunter Jump  3B - 2017 - Aliso Viejo, CA
Arizona State

Hunter Jump had a nice all around showcase as he ranked amongst the top of several categories thanks to his strong right arm. Throwing 85 mph from the outfield, 83 across the diamond and 84 off the bump, Jump's lefthanded swing was just as impressive as he showed natural strength off the barrel and the ability to create extension out front.

Marcus Lydon  SS - 2017 - Eugene, OR
Seattle

A primary middle infielder, Lydon showed present strength on his 5-foot-10 frame as well as lateral range up the middle and arm strength across the diamond from a short arm action, which he showed on the mound where he topped out at 83 mph. His righthanded bat may be his loudest tool as he showed interesting strength off the barrel with leverage and carry to his pull side.

Tyler Quinn  OF - 2017 - Gilbert, AZ
Chandler-Gilbert CC

A lean and projectable 6-foot-1, 165-pound outfielder, Quinn impressed on the first day of the showcase with his measurables as he displayed sound and consistent actions in the outfield where he topped out at 86 mph. Along with the second best outfield velocity, Quinn also turned in the top 60-yard times with an impressive 6.75 time.

Trey Winget  OF - 2017 - Washington, UT
St. Mary's/Gateway CC (AZ)

Winget put all of his tools on display and ranked atop the leader board of the entire showcase with a couple of them. After running the second best 60-yard dash with a time of 6.76, Winget showed big arm strength from the outfield with the top velocity of 89 mph. He also shows nice bat speed that projects well and flashes strength off the barrel.


2018 Top Prospects

Vincent Martin  3B - 2018 - Chandler, AZ
Uncommitted

Although listed as a primary third baseman where he showed nice arm strength and sound, balanced actions, Martin also impressed during his two innings on the mound. A strongly built sophomore, Martin consistently ran his fastball up to 84 mph with a full and fluid arm action, generating solid downhill plane and a quality changeup at 75 mph.

Joe Georgini  IF - 2018 - Casa Grande, AZ
New Jersey Tech

Georgini was very impressive on the mound this weekend. The 6-foot-2, 200 pound righty is a primary infielder, but he looked the part on the rubber. He showcased good arm strength, topping out at 84 mph and consistently working in the 80-83 mph range with his fastball. Additionally, he showed solid feel for a low-70s slider that has swing and miss potential and was consistently working to the bottom half of the strike zone.

Justice Panton  SS - 2018 - Phoenix, AZ
Chandler-Gilbert CC

Panton, a primary shortstop, is a good athlete that displayed good actions and soft hands in the infield both during drills and in game action. At the plate Panton has good bat speed for his age and flashed solid line-drive contact into both gaps. He has a projectable, well-proportioned 5-foot-11, 150 pound frame and should only continue to improve with additional strength and experience.


2019 Top Prospects

Sam Wibbels  RHP - 2019 - Hastings, NE
Kentucky

One of just a couple freshman in attendance, Wibbels stuff on the mound stood out amongst the showcase as he first threw the top velocity across the infield at 89 mph before jumping on the mound. The young righthander projects very nicely moving forward and displayed a strong feel for a three-pitch mix including a fastball that topped at 86 mph.
