2015 Top Prospects

Trey Smith  SS - 2015 - Cypress, TX
Texas San Antonio

Smith came into the event without a college commitment but left with at least 1 D1 scholarship offer and likely many more. He has a very strong right handed bat for a middle infielder and plenty of mid-field athleticism.

Trevor Grabarkewitz  OF - 2015 - Luling, TX
Uncommitted

Grabarkewitz also came to Houston without a college offer but has strong D1 tools and that should change. He ran a 6.6 sixty but the most impressive thing was the power potential in the 6-3/180 athlete's right handed swing once he made some simple adjustments.

2016 Top Prospects

Brad Demco  LHP - 2016 - Austin, TX
Sam Houston State

Demco had about as good a showcase as this scout has ever seen. He hit three home runs in the two games, played centerfield at a very high level defensively, ran a 6.85, even threw 89 mph off the mound from the left side. We'll be seeing him again next week in Florida at the PG National.

Ben Ostrominski  RHP - 2016 - Round Rock, TX
Uncommitted

Ostrominski showed solid tools across the board, including as a two-way prospect. He has a fast left handed swing with some lift in it for extra base power, ran a 6.71 and had perhaps the best infield actions at the event. He was also in the upper 80's off the mound with a mid-70's curveball.

Jackson Nichols  C - 2016 - Nacogdoches, TX
McLennan CC

Nichols has next level tools on both sides of the ball. He receives the ball very cleanly in games and has a strong arm with a quick release that resulted in a 1.87 pop time. The right handed hitter also had lots of bat speed and pull power at the plate.

Micah Lloyd  SS - 2016 - Plano, TX
Incarnate Word

Lloyd is only 5-7/160 but is a switch-hitter with legit bat speed from both sides of the plate and can really drive the ball in the alleys. He's also a 6.75 runner with solid arm strength in the infield.

Kyle Moos  C - 2016 - Castroville, TX
Sam Houston State/Northeast Texas CC

Moos really stood out defensively behind the plate with his athleticism, quickness and arm strength. He has plenty of strength and raw bat speed at the plate but will improve with some adjustments to keep him from being so inside exaggerated. He also was up to 86 mph on the mound.

Samuel (Tyler) Hix  3B - 2016 - Spring, TX
George Washington/Alvin CC

Hicks has outstanding run and throw tools, posting a 6.74 sixty and throwing 91 from the outfield, 88 from shortstop and 84 mph off the mound. He has an aggressive offensive approach from the right side with good bat speed.

Keelyn Johnson  C - 2016 - Pineville, LA
Uncommitted

Johnson has an impressive bat from the right side and packs lots of raw bat speed and power into his 5-11/175 build. He showed goo athletic quickness behind the plate and popped 1.95 in drills.

Robert Malone  SS - 2016 - Houston, TX
Uncommitted

Malone has a medium build with lots of quick twitch muscles and ran a 6.56 sixty. He has very good swing mechanics from the right side and should be a high average hitter whose speed takes his offensive game up another level.

Tyler Bowen  SS - 2016 - Edmond, OK
Ohlone College

Bowen has lots of high level tools, including big arm strength and is a switch-hitter with lots of bat speed from the right side. He'll keep improving when he learns to play with less effort and use those tools more effectively.

Keone Givens  SS - 2016 - Choctaw, OK
Oklahoma

Givens has a nice combination of strength and speed in his compact 5-8/160 build. He ran a 6.76 sixty and had lots of right handed bat speed. He looks like a solid second base type at the next level and has a verbal commitment to Oklahoma.

Hudson Fife  OF - 2016 - Spicewood, TX
Alvin CC

Fife is a bit undersized at 5-9/178 but you can't ignore his athleticism and big time arm strength. His bat has a ways to come still but he does everything else on the field at a high level.

Cade Bullinger  RHP - 2016 - Boerne, TX
Texas San Antonio

Bullinger is a loose and projectable 6-4/185 athlete who runs a 6.71 and showed good athleticism in the outfield. He threw in the mid-80's off the mound with a solid curveball.

Drew Medford  RHP - 2016 - Fort Worth, TX
TCU

The 6-1/185 stood out for his big arm strength, which registered 93 mph from the outfield and 83 mph from behind the plate. We wished we'd seen him on the mound!

Kyle Mitchell  SS - 2016 - San Antonio, TX
Uncommitted

Mitchell stands out for his easy and fluid actions both defensively and in his swing. He'll take a big step forward when he starts packing some strength on his 6-2/160 frame.

Hunter Edwards  RHP - 2016 - Houston, TX
University of Houston

Edwards was up to 87 mph with a mid-70's curveball from a compact high 3/4's arm slot. He has clean mechanics and the ball came out of his hand easily with good downhill plane to the plate.

Barry Michael Williams  OF - 2016 - Rowlett, TX
Sam Houston State

Williams smoked a 6.5 sixty and has a nice projectable 6-2/170 build for a speedster. He has a short and quick left handed swing and pretty solid overall hitting fundamentals.

Colin Gordon  SS - 2016 - West Valley, UT
College of Southern Idaho

Gordon is a switch-hitting shortstop who impressed with his defensive ability and athleticism in the middle of the field and made an ESPY level catch on Sunday diving across the left field foul line that was fun to watch.

Philip Chase Evans  OF - 2016 - Kingwood, TX
Uncommitted

Evans has a projectable 6-1/170 build and plenty of present tools to build on. He ran a 6.83, showed nice athletic actions in the outfield and threw 84 mph off the mound.

William Gilbert  RHP - 2016 - Plano, TX
Baylor

Gilbert looks the part at 6-6/210 and is still growing into his coordination. He was up to 85 mph and showed a nice slider with good depth and sharpness to it.

James Ferguson  LHP - 2016 - Fort Worth, TX
North Carolina State

Ferguson has a nice 6-3/190 build and a mid-80's fastball that topped out at 86 mph. He throws both a mid-70's curveball and change up to complete a well balanced three-pitch mix.

2017 Top Prospects

Jake Hennessy  RHP - 2017 - San Antonio, TX
San Jacinto CC

Hennessy is a big young man at 6-5/220 but his arm is loose and easy coming through from a 3/4's arm slot and a clean delivery. He was up to 88 mph on his fastball and there is more in there.

Jackson Molinaro  C - 2017 - Cedar Park, TX
Uncommitted

Molinaro is a very athletic catcher who was can literally play all over the field and did during the weekend. He also has a fundamentally sound left handed swing. He'll just keep getting better as he gets stronger and more physically mature.

Brett Cain  3B - 2017 - China Spring, TX
University of Houston/Howard College

Cain is 6-5/195 and has a sweet left handed swing that was equally adept in games at driving the ball to left centerfield as he was at making an adjustment and pulling the ball hard down the right field line. He has a chance to be a very high level hitter.

2018 Top Prospects

Dawson Barr  RHP - 2018 - Flower Mound, TX
South Florida

Barr is a very projectable 6-1/175 right hander whose heavy fastball is already up to 88 mph from a long and loose arm action and mid to low 3/4's arm slot. He also throws a mid-70's curveball with good spin and a nice change up.

Connor Noland  RHP - 2018 - Greenwood, AR
Arkansas

The 6-3/180 Noland has lots of high ceiling two-way potential. He's a primary pitcher who was 83-86 mph on the mound with a good curveball but may be even better in the batter's box with big right handed bat speed and power potential.

Micheal Boult  2B - 2018 - Houston, TX
Uncommitted

Boult has plenty of growing to do but he is already a plus runner at 6.67 and has nice infield actions and athleticism. He needs to move from third base as his primary position to second base, as his actions and tools fit that position perfectly.

Mason Hopkins  RHP - 2018 - Sinton, TX
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

Hopkins has the projectable 6-2/155 frame you like seeing in a young pitcher and has a loose, long arm that produced a fastball up to 81 mph. His change up was a surprisingly good pitch for a freshman and he had lots of confidence in it.

2019 Top Prospects

Dylan Berg  RHP - 2019 - Houston, TX
Uncommitted

Berg is still very young physically as one would expect from an 8th grader but he has a nice rhythmic delivery and smooth arm action that produced an upper 70's fastball. He will keep improving for years as he gets stronger.
