GBG wins it all

In an offensive championship game, GBG Marucci Navy came out on top 9-6. Matt Lautz (2015, Agoura, CA) led the Navy with three hits including a double and an RBI.  Brandon Shearer (2015, Agoura, CA) pitched in with a single and a double.  Ryan Fineman (2015, Agoura, CA) drove in two runs with two hits.  Spencer Steer (2016, Millkan, CA) went 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Ethan Lopez (2015, La Mirada, CA) doubled in two runs.  Matthew Kassowitz (2015, Santa Monica, CA) did his part with two hits. Jay Rohnman (2015, Long Beach Wilson, CA) started and pitched 4 1/3 innings. He struck out one while allowing six hits. His heater was between 84-87 mph and topped out at 88.  Austin Rubick (2015, Buena, CA) came in to throw the sixth and seventh inning.  He fanned two and walked one. He threw his fastball in the high 80's and touched 92 mph.


For CBA Marucci,  Luke Williams (2015, Dana Hills, CA) went 2 for 4.  Kyle Hatton (2015, Norco, CA) pitched in with two hits including a double and two RBI's.  Ross Dodds (2015, Buchanan, CA) helped out with two singles.  Hatton also threw 1 2/3 innings. He struck out one while throwing his fastball in the mid 80's and touched 87 mph.


Blue Wave Takes Care of War Eagle 9-1

The Blue Wave defeated the War Eagle 9-1 in six innings.

Garrett Malter (2015, Huntington Beach, CA) led the Blue Wave offense with three singles while knotting a RBI and scoring twice. Tyler Geurts (2016, Tustin, CA) helped with two singles along with two RBIs and a run scored. Logan Contreras (2016, La Habra, CA) added a two RBI double, and Christian Lynch (2015, Chino Hills, CA) crushed a double and a single while scoring twice. 

John Guerrero (2015, Whittier, CA) went the longest on the mound for his team with four innings. He did not allow a run off four hits. He walked a pair while striking out four on his 78 mph fastball.

For the War Eagle, Jorge Reyes (2016, Mesa, AZ) led the team with two singles, and Niko Piazza (2016, Scottsdale, AZ) knocked the only run off his single.

The AZ Pro defeated Team Avenue Aces 13-0 in four innings.

Zach Neild (2015, Phoenix, AZ) took over the longest for the AZ Pro pitching staff. He went three innings without a run to score and three hits to fall. He did not walk a batter and struck out four on his 78 mph fastball. Ryan Sutton (2015, Scottsdale, AX) shut the door with eleven pitches along with no hits and one strike out. He ran the gun up to 79 mph.

Marucci Takes Down Bulls 8-1

The GBG Marucci Blue defeated the Southern Nevada Bulls 8-1 in six innings.

For Marucci, Robert White (2015, Manhattan Beach, CA) led the team with two singles with a RBI and a run scored. J.B. Guyton (2015, Torrance, CA) helped with a RBI single while scoring twice, and Preston Gittleson (2015, Calabasas, CA) connected with a two RBI double. Julius roped a RBI single, and Kavika Hubbel (2015, Torrance, CA) knotted a RBI single and later scored.

Taylor Myers (2015, Torrance, CA) went the longest with three innings. He allowed one run off two hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out three on his 75 mph fastball. Brandon Smith (2015, Torrance, CA) took two innings of work for his team. He did not allow a run or hit to occur. He walked just one and struck out two batters. He ran the gun up to 76 mph. 

For the Bulls, Matt Cox (2015, Las Vegas, NV) led the team with a RBI single, and Justin Rasavage (2015, Las Vegas, NV) scored the run off his earlier single. 


Marucci advances

Tim Holfgrafer (2015, La Jolla, CA) threw a complete game for CBA Marucci in their 5-1 win over BPA DeMarini Elite.  He struck out seven while allowing six hits and one walk. Luke Williams (2015, Dana Hills, CA) led the offense with three hits including a double.  Trevor Beard (2015, San Clemente, CA) pitched in with a single and a double.  David Maldonado (2015, Temecula Valley, CA) doubled in a run in the win which moves them into the championship game. 

Zach Wolf (2015, Dana Hills, CA) led BPA with two singles and an RBI.  Samuel Cachola (2017, Mater Dei, CA) went 1 for 3 with a double. 

GBG advances to the championships

Matt Lautz (2015, Agoura, CA) pitches his team, GBG Marucci Navy, past AZ Athletics 2016 and into the championships.  In five innings, he struck out two, walked zero and held the A's to three hits.  Ryan Fineman (2015, Agoura, CA) led the offense with two hits including a double and three RBI's.  Lautz also helped out with two singles and came around to score twice.  Ryan Eastburn (2015, Torrance, CA) went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Matthew Kassowitz (2015, Santa Monica, CA) doubled in a run in the win.

Daniel Abiles (2016, Perry, AZ) led the A's with two singles. 

Canyon Thunder Down Padres 6-1

The Canyon Thunder Purple used a four-run second inning to take control of the game and take down the North County Padres 6-1. The Thunder offense knocked in 11 hits from eight different players with Joe Palanzo (2017, Cactus Shadows HS, AZ) leading the way. Palanzo went 2-3 at the plate with two RBIs, two stolen bases, and a double. 

Matt Schroer (2017, Arcadia HS, AZ) took home the win for the Thunder after tossing the first four and a third innings. Schroer allowed three hits and one unearned run on 77 pitches while walking four and striking out six with a balanced delivery and control all around the plate with his three-pitch rotation featuring a curveball and a fastball averaging 80 mph and topping out at 85 mph. 

Pitching Committee Tosses No-Hitter

The All Star Baseball Academy got a no-hitter from their bullpen of four different pitchers as they blanked the Southern Nevada Baseball 2-0 in their consolation game. The All Star offense knocked in five hits from four different players with Kyler Murphy (2015, Liberty HS, AZ) leading the way. Murphy finished with the game's only multi-hit stat line, going a perfect 2-2 at the plate with a run scored and a double. 

Cole Bygum (2015, Golden Valley HS, CA) picked up the win for the All Stars as part of a four-pitcher committee that tossed a no-hitter. Bygum allowed no walks and struck out two with a fastball averaging 83 mph and topping out at 84 mph. 

Warriors Overwhelm Mad Dogs 11-4

The Warriors Baseball Academy 2016's put on an offensive clinic, putting up five runs in the sixth inning as they rout the Mad Dogs Baseball Club and take the 11-4 win. The Warriors offense knocked in 14 hits from ten different players with Austin Wiskow (2016, Sandra Day O'Conner HS, AZ) providing the power. Wiskow finished 3-4 at the plate while logging a game-high three RBIs, a run scored, two doubles and a double play on defense as Matthew Dyer (2015, Mountain Ridge HS, AZ) knocked both of his hits for triples with an RBI. 

Wiskow also picked up the win for the Warriors from the mound after tossing one and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and one earned run while walking two and striking out none with a fastball averaging 76 mph and topping out at 77 mph. 

Team Rip Takes 6-2 Win

Team Rip needed a four-point sixth inning before they were able to put away the San Diego Scorpions and take the win 6-2. Team Rip knocked in ten hits from six different players with Eric Hentschal (2015, El Camino HS, CA) leading the way on offense. Hentschal had a perfect game at the plate, finishing 3-3 with an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases. 

Reese Berberet (2015, Fallbrook HS, CA) took home the win for the Team Rip bullpen that saw four different pitchers log time on the mound. Berberet tossed one inning and allowed one hit and no runs while walking one and striking out none with a fastball averaging 79 mph and topping out at 81 mph. 

Clippers Bounce Back in 9-6 Win

The West Coast Clippers let the PB Outlaws jump out to an early 4-0 lead after the first inning, but finished strong down the stretch while logging at least one run in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh inning to roar back and take a 9-6 win. The Clippers offense knocked in 13 hits from nine different players as Mitchell Hayes (2015, Great Oak HS, CA) led the way on offense. Hayes, a Nevada commit, went 3-4 at the plate while logging two RBIs and two triples with a double play and two fielding errors on defense. Joel Osuna (2016, Cathedral City HS, CA) sparked the Outlaw offense to ten hits from seven different players with a perfect game of his own, finishing 2-2 with two RBIs, a walk and a double. 

Michael Horton (2015, Nuview Bridge Early College, CA) home the win for a Clipper bullpen that put five different pitchers into the game. Horton tossed 36 pitches in one inning of work, allowing one hit and four runs, one earned, while walking three and striking out none with a fastball averaging 75 mph and topping out at 78 mph. 

Athletics Storm to 5-2 Win

The AZ Athletics let the Iowa Select Black jump out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning, but didn't allow another score as they stormed back with two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to take a 5-2 win into the quarterfinals. Both teams' offenses knocked in six hits apiece with Daniel Abiles (2016, Perry HS, AZ) leading the way at the plate for the Athletics. Abiles finished 1-1 with two RBIs and two walks as Nathan Burgarello (Sandra Day O'Connor HS, AZ) added in a 2-3 game at the plate with an RBI, a run scored and a double.

With the win the Athletics (4-0-0) advance to the quarterfinals to take on the Marlins Scout Team (4-1-0)

Marlins Scout Team Outlast CrabFest

The Marlins Scout Team needed a three-run fourth inning to tie the game up before a run in the fifth proved to be the winning difference in a 7-6 playoff win over the CrabFest All Americans. The Marlins offense knocked in 13 hits from nine different players as four players logged an RBI as the offense tried to make up for four Marlin defensive fielding errors. The Marlin defense was able to limit a high-caliber CrabFest offense to only five hits from five different players. 

GBG Rallies Late, Wins 4-3

GBG Marucci Navy needed a three-run rally in the final inning to get past the So Cal SKLZ/TROSKY and take the win 4-3. The GBG offense knocked in ten hits from seven different players to offset four defensive fielding errors with Brandon Shearer (2015, Agoura HS, CA) leading the way on offense, finishing 3-4 with a run scored. Hunter Tidwell (2015, Vista Murrieta HS, CA) sparked the SKLZ offense with a perfect game at the plate, going 2-2 with two RBIs and a double. 

Alex Perron (2015, Bishop Gorman HS, NV) did most of the work on the mound for GBG, tossing six innings and allowing two hits and three runs, all unearned, while walking two and striking out nine with a fastball averaging 85 mph and topping out at 89 mph before being relieved in the seventh inning by the winning pitcher, Daniel Davanzo (2015, Westlake HS, CA). Davanzo allowed one hit and no runs or walks while striking out none and logging a strike on 70 percent of his pitches in the final inning. 

Halos Outlast Birds in Extra Innings

The So Cal Birds and the So Cal Halos needed extra innings to decide the outcome as the winning run came on a walk-off walk for the Halos to take the win 3-2. The Halos offense knocked in seven hits from six different players as RJ Cordiero (2015, Bishop Garcia Diego HS, CA) provided the spark. Cordiero logged his team's only multi-hit game, finishing 2-3 with an RBI, a strikeout and a double. 

Ben Farris (2017, Valencia HS, CA) took home the win for the Halos after closing out the final one and two-thirds innings from the mound. Farris allowed one hit and no runs or walks on 25 pitches while striking out one with a fastball averaging 82 mph and topping out at 85 mph. 

With the win the Halos (4-0-0) advance to the quarterfinals to take on the GBG Marucci Navy (4-0-0).

Cavs Take 4-1 Win

The CBA Cavs took a 4-1 win over the Tucson Bobcats to advance in the consolation bracket. The Cavs offense knocked in eight hits from eight different players and was able to take advantage of four Bobcat fielding errors. Wade Plott (2015, Yucaipa HS, CA) turned his one hit into a perfect game at the plate, finishing 1-1 with an RBI, two runs scored, a walk and a game-high four stolen bases.

Plott also picked up the win for the Cavs from the mound, tossing the first three innings of the game and allowing one hit and no runs on 43 pitches while walking two and striking out one with a fastball averaging 74 mph and topping out at 78 mph. 

Nevin and Greene push CBA Marucci to Semis

CBA Marucci defeated CBA Wave 9-6 to advance past the Quarterfinals and into the Semifinals.  UCLA commit, Tyler Nevin (2015, Poway HS, CA), and California commit, Tyrus Greene (2015, St Augustine HS, CA), led the Marucci offense each going 2-3 with 1 double and 3 RBI at the plate, Greene also scored 1 run and stole 1 base.  San Diego State commit, David Maldonado (2015, Temecula Valley HS, CA), also showed well going 2-4 with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Luke Williams (2015, Dana Hills HS, CA), a Cal Poly commit, added in a 2-3 with 2 runs scored day at the plate and Trevor Beard (2015, San Clemente HS, CA) went 2-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  

Charles Nies (2017, Mater Dei HS, CA) earned the win out of the bullpen going 3 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 5 batters.  Nies featured an 82-85/87 mph fastball and also mixed in a 63-70 mph curveball and a 73-75 mph changeup.  

For the Wave, Noah Strohl (2015, La Jolla HS, CA) went 2-3 with 1 double and 2 RBI, while Austin Rogers (2015, Francis W. Parker HS, CA) went 1-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Brandon Smith (2015, South Torrance HS, CA) also contributed a 2-2 day with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  

Pratto dominates as BPA DeMarini advances

BPA DeMarini Elite defeated GBG Orange County 9-1 to advance in to the Semifinals.  University of Southern California commit, Nicholas Pratto (2017, Mater Dei HS, CA), started and won the game for BPA going 5 2/3 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 7 batters.  Prato featured a 80-84/85 mph fastball and also worked in a 64-67 mph curveball and a 71-76 mph changeup.

Samuel Cachola (2017, Mater Dei HS, CA) led the way for the BPA offense going 1-1 with 1 double, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Gabriel Barthelmass (2016, Laguna Hills HS, CA) added in a 1-1 day with 1 double and 1 run scored day at the plate.  Leadoff man, Isaiah Parra (2017, Cypress HS, CA), went 1-2 with 2 RBI.  

For GBG, Aaron Lizziraga (2016, Cypress HS, CA) went 1-1 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  

Hughey pushes GBG Marucci Navy to Semis

GBG Marucci Navy defeated the So Cal Halos 11-3 to advance to the Semifinals.   Jacob Hughey (2015, Millikan HS, CA) started and earned the win for Marucci going 3 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk, while striking out 5 batters.  Hughey showed impressive velocity on the mound with his 82-87/89 mph fastball and mixed in a handful of 65-71 mph curveballs.  At the plate, he went 1-3 with 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  

For the rest of the offense, Ryan Easburn (2015, Torrance HS, CA)went 1-3 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 3 RBI. Matthew Kassowitz (2015, Santa Monica HS, CA) added in a 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base day at the plate, while Brandon Shearer (2015, Agoura HS, CA) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI.  Georgia commit, Will Proctor (2016, Mira Costa HS, CA), also showed well going 1-2 with 1 triple, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  

For the Halos, Chris McKee (2015, Newbury Park HS, CA) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored, while Trevor Moropolus (2015, Santa Barbara HS, CA) went 1-2 with 1 double and 1 RBI.  

Bombers top All Stars

Matthew Poladian (2015, Temecula Valley, CA) had a perfect day at the plate for Southern California Bombers Red in their 10-2 win over All Star Baseball Academy 18U.  He had three hits including a triple and four RBI's.  Christopher Ligot (2015, Bishop Alemany, CA) went 3 for 4 with a triple and an RBI.  Ellis Stevens IV (2015, Citrus Valley, CA) drove in two runs with a single. Antonio Monroy (2015, Warren, CA) pitched in with two singles. 

Hayden Durkiewicz (2015, Chandler, AZ) threw 4 2/3 innings. He struck out nine and walked one for the Academy. His fastball in the low 80's and touched 86 mph. 

92 mph heater from Kahaloa

Ian Kahaloa (2015, James Campbell, HI) struck out 12 in five innings for Prospects National Team in their 6-1 win over North County Padres. He allowed one hit and two walks. His high 80's heater touched 92 mph. Andrew Martinez (2016, Corona, CA) came in next and threw the sixth and seventh. He struck out two and walked two.  Jacob Alexander (2015, Belton, TX) led the offense with two hits including a double and an RBI.

Weston Clark (2015, La Jolla, CA) started for the Padres. In three innings, he struck out six and walked three.  Kris Aguilar (2015, West Hills, CA) came to throw three innings. He fanned three and gave up a hit. 

Athletics advance past Marlins

The AZ Athletics 2016 defeated the Marlins Scout Team 9-3 to advance past the Quarterfinals.  Daniel Abiles (2016, Perry HS, AZ) led the way for the Athletics' offense going 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Wyatt Fernandez (2016, Sandra Day O'Connor HS, AZ) also showed well going 1-2 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Keegan McCarville (2016, Sandra Day O'Connor HS, AZ) added in a 2-4 day with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base at the plate. 

Jacob Lagos (2016, Chandler HS, AZ) came into the game in relief going 6 shutout innings for the Athletics allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 1 batter.  While on the mound, Lagos featured a 71-74/75 mph fastball with a 59-66 mph curveball.  

For the Marlins Scout Team, Chad Smith went 1-3 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 2 RBI, while Nico Hoerner went 2-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI.  

Moore's heater hits 89 mph.

Austin Moore (2015, Marina, CA) threw a one-hitter for CBA Marucci in their 8-1 win over Canyon Thunder Black.  He struck out six and walked three. His fastball was between 86-88 mph and it touched 89. Luke Williams (2015, Dana Hills, CA) drove in two runs with a single.  Jake Ortega (2015, Capistrano Valley, CA) went 1 for 1 with a triple and three RBI's. 

Austin Wendt (2016, Mesquite, AZ) threw 4 1/3 innings for the Thunder. He struck out three and walked five.

Zoots and Bombers tie

Zoots Baseball Club scored in the first inning but couldn't hold on as they tied 3-3 with Southern California Bombers Black.  Evan Gravenmier (2015, College Park, CA) led the offense with a single that scored two runs.  Michael Ricupito (2015, Monte Vista, CA) doubled in a run. Ian Maclver (2017, College Park, CA) threw six innings. He struck out four while allowing a walk.

Tyler Armour (2015, Servite, CA) pitched for the Bombers. In seven innings, he fanned nine and walked just one.  Ruben Ruiz (2015, Chino, CA) had  a solo homer.  Paul Estrada (2015, Long Beach Poly, CA) went 2 for 3 in the tie.  Randy Labaut (2015, Downey, CA) helped out with two singles and an RBI. 

GBG Orange County edge by Bombers

GBG Orange County edged by the Southern California Bombers Black, 4-3.

Jake Rosander (2015, Sonora HS, CA) provided a big spark for the offense, going a perfect 2-2 with a triple, double, and one run scored.  Jeff James (2015, Sunny Hills HS, CA) went 2-3 with a single, double, one run scored and one RBI.  Ryan Carpenter (2016, Arnold O. Beckman HS, CA) went 1-3 with a single, one run and one RBI, and AJ Curtis () went 1-3 with a double.

Brent Bell (2015, Fullerton Union HS, CA) pitched five complete innings, giving up three earned runs on seven hits, and struck out five.  He had a fastball that peaked at 78 mph, and mixed in a handful of curveballs and a changeup for his off-speed pitches.

For the Bombers, Matthew Green (2015, St. Johns Bosco HS, CA) led the way, going 3-3 with three doubles and two RBIs in the game.  Jose Ruiz (2015, Warren HS, CA) contributed with a double and one run scored, and Brendan Moore (2015, Murrieta Valley HS, CA) had a double of his own in the contest.


520 Elite Survive So Cal Waves

The 520 Elite survived a late push from the So Cal Waves, matching five Wave runs in the fifth and sixth with five of their own to take a 9-7 win. The Elite offense knocked in 12 hits from nine different players with three different Elite logging multi-hit games. The Wave offense was sparked by Alejandro Vasquez (2015, John F. Kennedy HS, CA) and Justin Katona (2016, El Camino Real HS, CA) as they both turned their one hit into two RBIs apiece. 

Branden Hance (2016, Salpointe Catholic HS, AZ) took home the win for the Elite after tossing a complete game of seven innings. Hance allowed nine hits and seven runs on 94 pitches, four earned, while walking three and striking out four with a three-pitch rotation featuring a curveball and a fastball averaging 77 mph and topping out at 84 mph.

GBG Orange County scored early and held off ABD Nevada in their 8-6 win.  Justin Mellano (2015, Sonora, CA) led the offense with three hits including a double and a triple.  Tyler Smith (2015, St John Bosco, CA) pitched in with two singles.  Jake Rosander (2015, Sonora, CA) tripled in a run in the win.

Michael Cuddeback (2015, Centennial, NV) led Nevada with a single that plated two runs.  Jared Drizen (2015, Centennial, NV) went 2 for 2 with an RBI.  Jerron Largusa (2015, Palo Verde, NV) helped out with two hits including a double. 

BPA DeMarini Elite cruised to easy Win

The BPA DeMarini Elite cruised to the easy win, defeating the CBA Bulldogs, 7-1.

Zach Wolf (2015, Dana Hills HS, CA) led the way, going 3-4 with two doubles, a single, and one run scored.  Jay Schuyler (2015, Dana Hills HS, CA) contributed by going 2-3 with a double, single, two runs scored and one RBI.  Tyler Lasch (2017, El Toro HS, CA) a Mississippi State commit, went 2-4 with two singles, one run and one RBI.  Gabriel Barthelmass (2016, Laguna Hills HS, CA) contributed with a double of his own on the day.

Aggies Baseball comes back in the seventh inning to beat Hitters Club Sports 3-2. Josh Rodriguez (2015, St Francis, CA) started and threw four innings. He struck out five while allowing four hits.  Isaac Lopez (2015, Nogales, AZ) came in. In three innings, he struck out three and did not walk a batter.  Michael Aguilar (2015, Buena, AZ) led the offense with three hits an an RBI.

Bombers Rally and Survive Thunder

The Southern California Bombers Red survived a five-run rally in the bottom of the sixth and put together a four-run burst of their own in the top of the seventh as they outlast the Canyon Thunder Black 7-6. Both teams knocked in six runs apiece with each run coming from a different player. Ryan Berry (2015, Desert Villa HS, AZ) turned his one hit into two RBIs for the Thunder to gain the best stat line of the day, adding in a run scored and two stolen bases while also pitching one and a third innings to close out the game, allowing three hits and four runs, one earned, while walking one and striking out one. 

Joesph Serna (2015, Northview HS, CA) picked up the win for the Bombers for his one and two-thirds innings on the mound to close out the game. Serna allowed no hits or runs while walking one, striking out four and logging a strike on 70 percent of his pitches with a fastball averaging 80 mph and topping out at 82 mph.

Neither team could pull away as Trosky Baseball and Southern Nevada Bulls tie 3-3.  Terry Zuccola (2015, Temescal Canyon, CA) led Trosky with two singles and an RBI.  Lavin started and lasted three innings. He fanned three while allowing a hit.  Patrick McNabb (2015, La Costa Canyon, CA) came in and threw four innings. He struck out four and walked one. His fastball was recorded in the mid 80's and touched 87 mph. 

Anthony Saccente (2015, Centennial, NV) pitched the first four innings for the Bulls. He struck out seven while giving up four hits.  Ryan Lapolla (2017, Palo Verde, NC) came in next. In three innings, he struck out three while walking two. Saccente also had two singles and an RBI.

Hayden Nix (2016, Esperanza HS, CA) led the way for the Renegades, going 2-3 with two singles, one run and two RBIs.  Leadoff hitter Jonathan Longtin (2015, San Dimas HS, CA) went 2-4 with a single, a double, and two runs scored.  Josh Rios (2015, Long Beach Poly HS, CA) went 2-3 with a double, single, and one RBI.  Grant Victor (2016, St. Francis HS, CA) and Zechariah Jerrard (2016, Temple City HS, CA) went 3-3 at the plate a piece with three singles a piece as well.  Victor finished with an RBI, and Jerrard had three runs scored and one RBI.

Longtin pitched three complete innings of work, giving up just one hit and struck out six.  He showed good control and was around the plate with all of his pitches, while utilizing a fastball that averaged 84-86/86 mph and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches.

Mountain West scores 10 in win

A pair of 5-run innings helped give Mountain West a 10-2 win over Team California.  Mountain West used 15 hits to secure those 10 runs.

Keaton Kringlen (2015, Canyon View, UT) and Jake Taylor (2015, Timberline, ID) paved the way on offense for Mountain West.  Kringlen doubled once, scored once, and knocked in three runs while finishing 2-3 at the plate.  Taylor went 2-4 and also recorded 3 RBIs and one run scored.

The Southern California Bombers Black scored three runs in the first two innings and held on late to escape with a 4-2 victory over Aggies Baseball.  The Bombers stay unbeaten in the tournament and will move on to the next round of the playoffs.

Bryan Duenas (2015, Warren, CA), a San Diego State commit, pitched 5 1/3 innings for the Bombers allowing two runs on five hits and fanning four.  He was credited with the win.  He changed speeds, kept hitters off balance and displayed solid arm action.

JG Baseball used a combined pitching effort and solid offense to get by So Cal Elite 7-1 and stay alive in the tournament.

Colorado Travelers used three 2-run innings to put away SBG Wahoos 6-1.  Despite four errors, the Travelers used solid offense to secure the victory.

Troy Teegarden (2015, Mountain Vista, CO) and Dylan Lutz (2016, East, CO) both batted 2-3 for Colorado.  Teegarden doubled once and knocked in two runs as well.  Nick Lamb (2015, Rock Canyon, CO) and Josh White (2015, Rock Canyon, CO) each went a perfect 1-1 with two walks.  Lamb scored twice while White finished with 1 RBI.

So Cal Brewers scored two runs early and were able to use a six run sixth inning to put away Hitters Club Sports 9-1 after six innings of play.

Christian Lopez (N/A) and Ryan Pollinger (2015, St John Bosco, CA) each went 2-3 in the win.  Lopez doubled once, drove in two runs, and also scored one time.  Pollinger finished the game with 1 RBI and one run scored.  David Benedict (2016, Southwest, CA) also ended the game with 2 RBIs.

So Cal - White Sox Scout used 13 hits en route to 8 runs and a shut-out victory over MVP Red Sox. The final score was 8-0.

Danny Zimmerman (2017, Redondo Union, CA) finished the game 2-3 with one double and one triple. Zimmerman also knocked in two runs while scoring once himself.  He also pitched three innings giving up two hits while striking out three and was credited with the win.

The AZ Athletics 2015 had both the offense and defensive rolling Sunday as they blanked San Diego Show 9-0 in five innings of play.

Carlos Baidenegro (2015, Tolleson Union, AZ) and Mason Brion (2015, Sandra Day O'Connor, AZ) combined to toss a no-hitter for the Athletics.  Brion threw 84.6% of his total pitches as strikes and Baidenegro fanned 4 in the win.

All Star Baseball Academy 18U racked up 11 hits against Hitters Club Sports in their 7-3 win.  Kyler Murphy (2015, Liberty, AZ) had two of those hits and two RBI's.  Tommy McCarty (2015, Mingus Union, AZ) pitched in with three hits including a double and an RBI.  Augy Rocha (2015, Apollo, AZ) went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Antonio Coroando (2015, St. Marys, AZ) pitched a perfect inning and struck out the side.  His impressive heater was in the high 80's and reached 90 mph.

So Cal Elite Blank Big Island

The So Cal Elite put on an offensive showcase, knocking in 11 hits from eight different players as they blanked Big Island Baseball 7-0. The Elite offense was led by a perfect game from Aaron Gamez (2015, La Sierra HS, CA) who finished 3-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Timothy Nelson (2015, Ruben S. Ayala HS, CA) added in a 2-4 game at the plate with a game-high two RBIs, a double and a stolen base. 

Jared Davila (2015, Yucaipa HS, CA) took home the win for the Elite for his three innings on the mound to start out the game. Davila tossed just 21 pitches and allowed one hit and no runs or walks while striking out two and logging a strike on 81 percent of his pitches with a fastball averaging 81 mph and topping out at 83 mph.

The GBG Marucci Navy defeated the Southern Nevada Baseball, 4-1.

Brandon Shearer (2015, Agoura HS, CA) led the way going 1-3 at the plate, with a single, one run scored and two RBIs.  Spencer Steer (2016, Millikan HS, CA) an Oregon commit, also went 1-3 in the game, with a single, and two RBIs of his own.  Will Proctor (2016, Mira Costa HS, CA) a Georgia commit, contributed with a perfect 2-2 performance, and two runs scored on the day.

Austin Ribick (2015, Buena HS, CA) pitched four complete innings of work, giving up one run on three hits, and struck out two.  He had a good fastball that averaged 88-91/91 mph, and mixed in a handful of curveballs, sliders and changeups for his off-speed pitches.

For Southern Nevada, Marques Paige (2016, Bishop Gorman HS, NV) went 1-1 with a single and a run scored, and Myles Denson (2016, Bishop Gorman HS, NV) went 1-3 with a single as well in the contest.

Dylan Nickless (2016, Littleton HS, CO) led the way, going 2-3 with two doubles and one run scored for the Travelers.  Chris Givin (2015, Rock Canyon HS, CO) also went 2-3 with two singles and one run scored as well in the game.  Javy Garcia (2015, Pueblo West HS, CO) went 2-4 with two singles and one run scored.

On them mound, Brian Harrity (2015, Rock Canyon HS, CO) pitched a complete game, giving up one earned run on seven hits, and struck out five.  He had a fastball that averaged 77-80/80 mph, and mixed in a handful of curveballs and a changeup for his off-speed pitches.

The CrabFest All Americans edged by the SBG Wahoos, 2-1.  The All Americans held a 2-0 lead into the top of the seventh inning, and allowed just one run by the Wahoos, and went on to the victory.

Bradley Thaxton (2015, Dematha Catholic, MD) went 1-3 at the plate, with a single, and Chris Ford (2015, Arundel HS, MD) also went 1-3 with a single of his own.  On the mound, Andrew Rozylowicz (2015, Dematha Catholic, MD) pitched a complete game, giving up one earned run on five hits, and struck out three.  He showed good command and was around the plate with all of his pitches, while utilizing a fastball that peaked at 80 mph, and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches.

For the Wahoos, Nicholas Pico(2016, Bishop Alemany HS, CA) and Brandon Lewis (2016, Bishop Alemany HS, CA) each went 2-3 the lead the way, with two singles a piece on the day.  Curtier also pitched a complete game for the Wahoos, giving up one run on two hits, and struck out four in six complete innings of work.  He had a good fastball that topped out at 85 mph, and mixed in a good, late-breaking curveball for his off-speed pitch.

Making the most of just four hits in the game, the CBA Bulldogs defeated the Trombly Nighthawks 3-1.

A. Greenfield went 1-3 at the plate, with a double, one run scored and one RBI, to lead the way for the Bulldogs.  Dalton Blumenfeld (2015, Alexander Hamilton HS, CA) went 1-3 as well, with a triple, and one RBI.  Eric Wagaman (2015, Aliso Niguel HS, CA) contributed by going 1-2 with a single.

Liam Ogburn (2015, Newport Harbor HS, CA) pitched a complete game for the Bulldogs, giving up one earned run on six hits, and struck out four, in seven complete innings of work.

Joseph Merrill (2015, Buena, CA) tossed a complete game for So Cal Thunder.  Merrill allowed two runs on seven hits, and struck out seven while posting a 65 strike percentage.  Chris Frovarp (2015, Ventura, CA) and Jack Coupart (2015, Buena, CA) each doubled once and drove in one run a piece as well.

GBG Orange County HS defeated Mad Dogs Baseball Club 12-0 to improve to 2-0 in the tournament.  Alexander Lee (2015, Newport Harbor HS, CA) started and won the game for GBG tossing 4 no-hit innings allowing just 3 walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Lee featured a 75-80/82 mph fastball while on the mound and mixed in a handful of 63-66 mph curveballs.

The All Star Baseball Academy 18U defeated Aggies Baseball 5-3 to improve to 2-0 in the tournament.  Ryan Nelson (2015, Pinnacle HS, AZ) led the way for the All Star offense going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Christian Isbell (2015, Horizon HS, AZ) and Rudy Karre (2015, Liberty HS, AZ) also showed well each going 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Hayden Durkiewicz () added in a 1-3 day with 2 RBI.  

Augy Rocha (2015, Apollo HS, AZ) started and earned the win for the All Stars going 5 strong innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 6 hits and no walks, while striking out 1 batter.  Rocha featured a 78-80 mph fastball and also mixed in his 66-67 mph curveball. 

For the Aggies, Marcos Navarrett (2015, Copper Canyon HS, AZ) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored, while Roger Varela (2015, Cibola HS, AZ) went 2-4 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.

In a low scoring affair, Team California used two runs to squeak by So Cal Elite 2-1.

Austin Gorrell (2015, John W. North, CA) finished the game 2-2 at the plate for Team California. Micheal Guerena (2015, Cathedral Catholic, CA) and Robert Gonzalez (2017, Redlands East Valley, CA) combined to provide both runs batted in.  Gonzalez also pitched one inning allowing just one hit.

Parker Wick (2015, San Marcos, CA) tossed the other six innings, throwing 102 pitches allowing one run on just four hits.  He struck out six and was credited with the win.

The So Cal SKLZ/Trosky tied the Cairas Blackdogs 18U 6-6. 

San Diego commit, Matt Whitney (2015, Adolfo Camarillo HS, CA), led the SKLZ/Trosky offense going 2-3 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI and 2 stolen bases.  Angel Estrada (2015, Eastlake HS, CA) also showed well going 2-2 with 3 runs scored, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  

Alex Tovalin (2015, Otay Ranch HS, CA) pitched well out of the bullpen for the SKLZ/Trosky going 2 innings allowing 2 unearned runs on 5 hits and no walks, while striking out 4 batters.  While on the mound, Tovalin featured a 7-84/85 mph fastball and mixed in a 69-72 mph slider.  

For the Blackdogs' offense, Sheldon Borson (2015, Xavier College Preparatory HS, CA) went 1-3 with 1 triple, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Theodore Smith (2015, Murrieta Valley HS, CA) added in a 1-2 day with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  



BPA wins on walk-off single

BPA DeMarini Elite got all they could handle from the So Cal Brewers, but were able to pull out the victory on a walk-off single in the bottom of the 7th inning.  BPA won 5-4.

The CrabFest All Americans defeated the On Deck Baseball Academy 5-0 in seven innings.

The VCU commit, Jack Alkire (2015, Cheverly, MD), was the sole leader of the pitching duties. He went all seven innings without a walk, hit, or a run to score. He struck out 16 batters while touching 91 mph with his fastball. He threw all pitches around the plate with a solid arm action. He has a smooth delivery with an online delivery. He has arm side run on his fastball and comes out of a high 3/4 arm angle. 

Offensively, Kevin Heiss (2015, Silver Spring, MD) led the team with two singles and a RBI with a RBI. JD Bruck (2015, Bel Air, MD) exploded with a bases clearing three RBI double in the sixth inning. 

Hall tosses gem in Show win

The San Diego Show defeated the Menifee Mustangs 3-2 to improve to 2-1 in the tournament.  Kyle Hurt (2017, Torrey Pines HS, CA) started and earned the win on the mound going 7 innings allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and no walks, while striking out 4 throwing an impressive 73.8% strike percentage.  Hurt featured an 82-86/87 mph fastball and also effectively mixed in a 71-75 mph curveball.  

Myles Emmerson (2016, El Capitan HS, CA) led the way for the Show offense going 2-3 with 2 RBI.  Casey Schmidt added in a 2-3 with 1 triple and 1 run scored day at the plate.  Yassin Wahheb (2015, University City HS, CA) also showed well going 2-3 and Christian Meza (2015, Christian HS, CA) went 1-2 with 1 RBI.  

For the Mustangs, Joshua Richardson (2015, Paloma Valley HS, CA) went 1-2 with 1 double and 1 run scored, while Jedidah Walz (2015, Paloma Valley HS, CA) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.

The Trosky Baseball defeated the So Cal White Sox Scout 6-2 in seven innings.

For Trosky, Tyler Pritchard (2016, Lake Elsinore, CA) led the team with a double and a single that drove in two RBIs. Taylor Bush (2015, Temecula, CA) knocked a double and a single as well with a RBI and scoring twice. Taylor Meilleur (2016, Honolulu, HI) roped a pair of singles with a  RBI and a run. Joe Caparis (2016, Palos Verdes Estates, CA) contributed two singles with a run scored. Jason Dicochea (2016, Redondo Beach, CA) helped with a RBI single of his own.

Miles Glazier (2015, San Marino, CA) led the pitching duties for his team. He went three strong innings with just three hits and no runs. He did not walk any players and struck out two on his 84 mph fastball. Ryan Lefner (2015, San Juan Capistrano, CA) went two innings. He did not allow a run or a hit. He walked one and struck out one. He maxed out the gun at 82 mph.

For the White Sox, Michael Murphy (2015, Long Beach, CA) led the offense with two doubles and scoring once. Gannon Miller (2016, Chino, CA) connected with a RBI double and later scored. 


Prospects hold off late push by CBA

Advanced Baseball Academy Prospects registered their first win in taking down previously unbeaten CBA Bulldogs 5-3.  The prospects held off a late rally by the Bulldogs in the final inning to secure the win.

Chris Beebe (2015, Blue Valley Northwest, KS), Nathan Switzer (2016, Blue Valley, KS) and Jonathan Felix (2015, Blue Valley West, KS) all recorded two hits in the win for Advanced Baseball Academy Prospects.  Beebe added one run scored as well.  Nathaniel Vossman (2016, Blue Valley Northwest, KS) scored twice in the victory.

Alec Pomahatch (2015, Arrowhead Christian Academy, CA) provided solid offense for the Bulldogs. He finished the game 2-3 and scored two of the three runs in the loss.

GBG Marucci Navy scored three runs early and tacked on one more in the 4th inning as they blanked Tucson Bobcats 4-0. 

Chase Sandman (2016, Mountain Ridge, AZ) and Michael Rumpp (2015, Mira Costa, CA) combined to two-hit the Bobcats.  Sandman tossed three innings for Marucci giving up one hit and striking out two. Rumpp also gave up only one hit and fanned one as well. 

Ryan Fineman (2015, Agoura, CA), Matt Lautz (2015, Agoura, CA), and Ryan Eastburn (2015, Torrance, CA) all doubled in the win for GBG.  Fineman and Eastburn added 1 RBI each. 

Athletics 2015 beat MVP Baseball Black

AZ Athletics 2015 scored in four straight innings to propel them to a 7-2 victory over MVP Baseball Black.  The athletics had 13 hits in the win.

Paul Bryniarski (2015, Fountain Hills, AZ) led the way on offense for the Athletics.  Bryniarski went a perfect 3-3 at the plate with two doubles, 1 RBI, and two runs scored.  Devin Foyle (2015, Fountain Hills, AZ), Tristan Dyer (2015, Sunrise Mountain, AZ), and Hunter Lessard (N/A) all finished with two hits.  Foyle scored once, Dyer had 1 RBI and one run scored, while Lessard knocked in two runs and crossed home plate once as well.

Cooper Mitchell (2015, Oakton, VA) and Micah McNicoll (2016, Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Camp, HI) combined for the two runs driven in for MVP Baseball Black. 

Athletics score 12, get Win

The AZ Athletics 2016 scored runs in every inning as they put away MVP Red Sox 12-4.

Nick Brauns (2016, Sunrise Mountain, AZ) pitched all five innings for the Athletics. The right-hander competed on the mound, changed speeds, and threw strikes.  He finished with 5 Ks.

Demato (N/A) doubled once, drove in two runs, and scored three times in the win for AZ.  Colin Ludwig (2016, Chandler, AZ) and Dylan Cole (2016, Chaparral, AZ) each crossed home plate three times as well.  Colby Wyatt (2016, Sandra Day O'Connor, AZ) went 2-3 with 1 RBI. 

Bradley Schatz (2016, Oaks Christian, CA) and Jimmy Tatum (2016, Thousand Oaks, CA) each finished with two hits for MVP.  Schatz doubled twice and scored twice.  Tatum drove in one of the four runs for the Red Sox.

520 Elite cruised to the shutout victory, defeating GBG Renegades, 9-0.

T. Howard went 1-2 with a double, one run scored, and one RBI in the game.  D. Sands went 1-3 with a single, one run scored and two RBIs.  M. Baker went 1-2 with a single and two runs scored, and J. Mareks contributed with a double of his own in the contest.

E. Romano pitched a complete game, giving up just two hits and struck out four, in five innings of work.  He showed good command of his curveball, and had a fastball that topped out at 80 mph.

The Iowa Select Black defeated the So Cal NTT 2-0 to improve to 2-0-1 in the tournament.  Spencer Van Scoyoc (2016, Thomas Jefferson HS, IA) started and earned the win for the Select going 5 shutout innings allowing 2 hits and 5 walks, while striking out 5.  Van Scoyoc featured an 83-86/88 mph fastball and mixed in a heavy dose of his 68-71 mph curveball.  

Kevin DeLaney (2015, Iowa City West HS, IA) led the way offensively for the Select going 2-3 with 1 RBI and 2 stolen bases.  Cole Johnson (2016, Millard North HS, NE) added in a 1-2 with 1 run scored day at the plate.  

For the NTT, Ben Ribble (2016, Brophy College Preparatory HS, AZ) went 1-1 with 1 stolen base and 1 walk.

It took six runs in the top of the seventh inning, but Wildfire Baseball Red got it done and held on four a 7-4 win over Prospects National Team.  Wildfire finished 3-0 in pool play. 

Nicholas Guaragna (2015, Chaparral, AZ) knocked in three runs for Wildfire Baseball Red.  BaKari Gayle (2015, Martin Luther King Jr., GA) did well on the bases as he was able to score twice.  Andrew Klee (2015, Seton Catholic, AZ) pitched six innings giving up one run on four hits and struck out five. He was credited with the win.

The San Diego Show grabbed the 7-5 victory, outlasting a back-and-forth affair, defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks Academy.

Tucker Torano (2015, Eastlake HS, CA) led the way for the Show, going 1-2 with a triple, one run scored and two RBIs.  Casey Schmidt contributed by going 2-3 with two singles, and a run scored.  Connor Bailey (2015, Scripps Ranch HS, CA) also went 1-2 with a single and two runs scored in the game.

The CrabFest All Americans defeated the CBA Cavs 10-1 to improve to 3-0 in the tournament.  Joseph Hall (2016, Dematha Catholic HS, MD) led the way for CrabFest going 1-1 with 1 double, 2 runs scored, 3 RBI and 1 walk.  Bradley Thaxton (2015, Dematha Catholic HS, MD) also showed well going 1-2 with 1 double, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  Rhode Island commit, Kevin Heiss (2015, Archbishop Spalding HS, MD), added in a 1-2 day at the plate with 2 RBI and 1 walk.  Leadoff man, Andrew Keith (2015, Dematha Catholic HS, MD), managed to knock in 2 runs, score 2 and steal 1 base on the day.  

Tyler Carmen (2015, Laurel HS, MD) started and earned the win going 3 strong innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits and no walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Carmen featured a 77-79 mph fastball and also mixed in a 65-69 mph curveball on the mound.

The Slammers Black-Holzemer defeated the West Coast Clippers 18U, 6-3, thanks to a big four-run fourth inning that put the Slammers ahead and on to the victory.

Aaron Dammel (2016, Highlands Ranch HS, CO) went 1-2 with a single, one run and two RBIs in the contest to lead the way for the Slammers.  Wyatt Featherston (2016, Green Mountain HS, CO) also went 1-2 in the contest, with a single, one run and one RBI.  Nick Spillotis (2016, Regis Jesuit HS, CO) contributed with a single and one RBI and finished 1-3 at the plate.

Southern California Bombers Black scored one run in the bottom of the fourth inning and it turned out to be all they needed as they went on to win 1-0 over So Cal Waves. Each team finished with three hits.

Isaiah Moten (2015, Temecula Valley, CA) pitched a complete game effort for the Bombers.  Moten gave up three hits and fanned five.  He hit 85mph on his fastball.

Matthew Green (2015, St. John Bosco, CA), a St. Mary's commit tripled once and scored the lone run in the game.  Randy Buenrostro (2015, Paramount, CA) was the player who drove Green in for the score.

The Mountain West defeated the ABD Bulldogs 8-6 to improve to 2-1 in the tournament.  Keaton Kringlen (2015, Canyon View HS, UT) led the way for the Mountain West offense going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  BYU commit, Jackson Cluff (2015, Rocky Mountain HS, ID), also showed well going 2-4 with 2 runs scored and Abe Yagi (2015, Skyline HS, UT) went 2-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Jake Taylor (2015, Timberline HS, ID) added in a 1-2 day with 1 RBI and 1 walk.  

Braden Stutzman (2015, Twin Falls HS, ID) started and earned the win for the Mountain West going 6 innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 5.  Stutzman featured an 80-83/84 mph fastball and mixed in a 70-74 mph curveball while on the mound.  

For the Bulldogs, Thomas Berutto (2015, Etiwanda HS, CA) went 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI, while Cory Konter (2015, Paraclete HS, CA) went 2-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  

Dbacks Elite Scout Team wins 1-0

Dbacks Elite Scout Team won a close fought battle against Southern Nevada Bulls 1-0.  Dbacks Elite Scout Team scored the lone run of the game in the bottom of the 2nd inning and held on for the tight victory.

Jake Castaldo (2017, Centennial, AZ) went 1-2 in the game, but provided what ended up being the game winning RBI.  Cole Valetta (2015, Mesquite, AZ) had the only other hit in the game for Dbacks Elite Scout Team.  Jeremy Norris (2015, Basha, AZ) tossed five innings, allowed two hits, and struck out five to notch the win. 

Chase Ottofy (2016, Mountain View Christian, NV) doubled once for Southern Nevada, but was unable to come around for a score.  Isaiah Blaylock (2016, Shadow Ridge, NV) pitched 2 2/3 innings allowing one hit, no runs, and struck out three for the Bulls.

The So Cal Halos defeated MAP Baseball 3-1 to improve to 2-0 in the tournament.  Dane Aguliar (2016, Moorpark HS, CA) tossed a dominating outing going 4 innings allowing just 4 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 8 batters.  Aguliar showed sound mechanics and a balanced, smooth delivery on his 81-84 mph fastball that had good life.  He also used a 74-75 mph slider that showed late break and tight rotation and a 70-71 mph curveball that showed potential.  

Austin Whittaker (2015, Adolfo Camarillo HS, CA) led the way for the Halos' offense going 1-3 with 2 RBI at the plate.  Kaden Betsch (2015, Valencia HS, CA) added in a 1-1 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 walk day.  Jacob Pritchard (2015, Santa Ynez Valley Union HS, CA) also showed well going 1-2 with 1 RBI and 1 walk.  

For MAP, Tyler Eckberg (2016, Edina HS, MN) went 2-4 and Ben Reiners (2016, Cactus Shadows HS, AZ) went 2-3 with 1 run scored.  

Big 1st Inning helps Impact get the Win

Impact Player Baseball dominated from the start as they scored five runs in the 1st inning en route to a 9-1 win over War Eagle 18U.  Impact had their offense rolling with 13 hits to help provide the scoring.

Eli Villalobos (2015, Sonora, CA) did well as he doubled three times to finished 3-3.  He also added two RBIs and one run scored for Impact.  Weston Ellis (2015, Pacifica, CA), Alec Ceniceros (2015, El Modena, CA), and Alec Sorrells (2015, Yorba Linda, CA) each finished the game with two hits, respectively.  Ellis scored once, Ceniceros scored twice and tacked on 1 RBI to the stat sheet, while Sorrells drove in one run.

Zack McKay (2015, El Modena, CA) pitched all six innings in the win.  McKay allowed one run on just three hits and walked none.  The right-hander struck out an impressive 8 batters in those six innings of play.

The Marlins Scout Team scored five runs early and tacked on one more run to solidify a 6-1 win over AZ Baseball Club.

Mcarther (N/A) started on the mound for Marlins Scout Team and pitched the entire game.  He gave up one run on four hits while fanning six.  He showed a good FB as well as CB and pitched downhill.  His fastball topped out at 87mph.

Chad Smith (N/A) went 2-3 with a double, 1 RBI, and one run scored in the win.  Isaih Flowers (N/A) also knocked in one run while scoring once as well. Duncan McKinnon (N/A) went a perfect 1-1 while crossing home plate twice.

The Trombly Nighthawks scored runs in four of five innings en route to a 9-1 win over Warriors Baseball Academy 2016's.  The nighthawks registered 9 hits to help secure those 9 runs. 

Matt Hardy (2015, La Sierra, CA), a UC Riverside commit, finished a perfect 2-2 for the Nighthawks. Hardy tripled once, had 1 RBI, and crossed home plate twice.  Five different players doubled at least one time for Trombly while eight different players helped provide runs.  Kyle Bradish (2015, Millennium, AZ) pitched four innings allowing just one run on two hits.  Bradish struck out 5 and received the W.

The San Diego Scorpions scored five total runs between the fourth and fifth innings and secured a 5-2 victory over GBG Renegades.

Aaron Colmenares (2016, Mater Dei Catholic, CA) and Adrian Rodriguez (2015, Undecided, CA) each batted 2-3 for the Scorprions.  Colmenares tripled once and drove in two runs while Rodriguez crossed home plate one time.  

Nick Hernandez (2015, Charter Oak, CA) and John McKee (2017, Redlands, CA) each had one hit in the game for the Renegades.  Hernandez finished with 1 RBI and one run scored while McKee also had 1 RBI.  Garrett Brockel (2015, Cypress, CA) doubled once and drove in a run.

So Cal Brewers led 3-1 early on, but it was Canyon Thunder Purple who put up four runs on the board in the final three innings to steal a 5-3 victory.

Coby Boulware (2017, Boulder Creek, AZ) and Nick DiCarlo (2017, Arcadia, AZ) each went 2-3 at the plate for Canyon Thunder Purple.  DiCarlo added one run scored.  Matt Schroer (2017, Arcadia, AZ) went 1-1 with one RBI in the win.  Matt Dalke (2015, North Canyon, AZ) tossed a complete game effort allowing three runs on six hits while striking out 5.  His fastball was steady in the mid 80s.

Team Northwest started strong and finished even stronger as they blanked Mad Dogs Baseball Club 11-0 in six innings of play.

Jack Johnson (2015, Roosevelt, WA), a Washington commit, had a great game at the plate as he finished a perfect 4-4 with one double and three RBIs.  Griffin Mueller (2015, Eastside Catholic, WA) and Mason Cerrillo (2015, Auburn Mountainview, WA) each went 2-3 at the plate, respectively. Mueller crossed home plate once while Cerrillo drove in one run and scored 3 times.

Grant Townsend (2015, Bonney Lake, WA) pitched 5 solid innings for Team Northwest.  The RHP gave up one hit, walked one, and struck out 7 batters.  He also hit 88mph on his fastball.

Hagen Danner (2017, Huntington Beach, CA), a UCLA commit, pitched a complete game for BPA. The right-hander allowed only two hits, no runs, no walks, and struck out 7.  Danner hit 90mph on his fastball.

Bownet and So Cal battle ends in tie

Bownet Elite led So Cal Birds 1-0 heading into the final inning of play, but Bownet could not hold on to the lead as So Cal scored a run in the bottom of the 7th.  The game went on to end in the 1-1 tie.

Silguero led the Marlins Scout Team with a triple and a single while adding a RBI and scoring twice. White roped a two RBI single and later scored, and Chad Smith added two doubles while scoring once. 

Revels tossed most of the game with 4.1 innings. He allowed one run that was unearned. He allowed just two hits to fall. He walked two batters and struck out six on his 84 mph fastball. The So Cal Halos jumped out to an early lead with a six-run third inning and held the West Coast Clippers 18U scoreless until the sixth inning when the game was in hand as they took a commanding 10-4 win. Both teams knocked in nine hits with RJ Cordiero (2015, Bishop Garcia Diego HS, CA) leading the way for the Halos. Cordiero finished 2-3 with an RBI, two runs scored, a walk and a double play as Jacob Pritchard (2015, Santa Ynez Valley Union HS, CA) knocked his only hit in for a three-RBI triple. Marc Sauceda (2015, Chaparral HS, CA) powered a balanced Clipper's offense to hits from eight different players with a 2-3 game at the plate with a team-high two RBIs, a run scored, a double and two double plays. 

Dylan Thomas (2015, Valencia HS, CA) picked up the win for the Halos bullpen that saw five different pitchers step on the rubber. Thomas tossed three innings and allowed three hits and no runs or walks while striking out one and logging a strike on 77 percent of his pitches with a fastball averaging 82 mph and topping out at 85 mph.

The So Cal Birds were held scoreless through the fifth inning as the ABD Bulldogs took a two-run lead in the fourth, but bounced back and put together a five-run sixth inning to take control of the game and the eventual win 6-2. The Birds offense knocked in six hits from five different players and took advantage of three Bulldog fielding errors as Grant Burton (2018, Mater Dei HS, CA) led the Bird's offense. Jacob Williams (2015, El Camino Real HS, CA) knocked one of the two Bulldog hits for a two-run homer in the fourth.

The Southern Nevada Baseball defeated the MVP Baseball Red 9-3 in six innings.

Yodai Nakamura (2015, Las Vegas, NV) led the Southern Nevada team with three singles that plated a RBI and a run. Marques Paige (2016, Las Vegas, NV) and Nick Rush (2015, Las Vegas, NV) each helped with a RBI double, and Bryson Stott (2016, Las Vegas, NV) roped a RBI single and later scored.

Jeff Griffith (2015, Las Vegas, NV) led the pitching duties with six innings of work. He let one earned run score with four hits to fall. He walked six batters and struck out seven on his 82 mph fastball.

For MVP Baseball, Connor Maydole (2016, San Luis Obispo, CA) and Justin Velazquez (2015, Barceloneta, PR) led the team with a single and a run. Scott Prutting (2017, Potomac, MD) knocked the only RBI of the game.

Team Northwest defeated the ABD Nevada 5-1 in seven innings.

Mark Finkelnburg (2015, Portland, OR) led Team Northwest while tossing six innings. He did not allow a run and two hits to fall. He walked three batters and struck out six on his 82 mph fastball. He keeps all his pitches around the plate with a good extension out front. He attacks hitters and works fast. 

Grant Guillory (2015, Houston, TX) led the offense with a pair of singles with two RBIs. Rex Stephan (2015, Seattle, WA) helped with two singles along with a RBI and two runs. Jack Johnson (2015, Seattle, WA) contributed a triple and a run with a RBI and a run.

For the ABD Nevada, Jerron Largusa (2015, Las Vegas, NV) led his team with a RBI single. Three of his teammates added with each tacking on a single.

Blaine Jarvis (2015, Las Lomas HS, CA) started for the Warriors going 5 innings allowing 2 unearned runs on 4 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 5 batters.  Jarvis used a 83-88/89 mph fastball while on the mound, and mixed in a 77-78 mph slider.  

Connor Doyle (2015, San Ramon Valley HS, CA) went 2-4 and Clayton Tennant (2016, San Ramon Valley HS, CA) went 2-2 with 1 run scored and 1 walk for the Warriors' offense.  

For the Renegades, Josh Rios (2015, Long Beach Poly HS, CA) was their starter pitching 4 innings allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and 1 walk, while recording 4 strikeouts.  Rios relied on his 84-87/89 mph fastball and mixed in a 73-76 mph curveball.

The West Coast Clippers 18U defeated the MAP Baseball 4-1 in seven innings.

Eric Sanchez (2016, Temecula, CA) led the Clippers with a pair of singles and two RBIs. Cameron Haskell (2015, Temecula, CA) knocked a RBI triple, and Tanner Pearman (2015, Mesa, AZ) connected with a  single and a double.

Tommy Vasquez (2015, Temecula, CA) tossed the longest for his team for five innings. He did not allow a run with seven hits. He walked one and struck out two on his 80 mph fastball.

Tyler Eckberg (2016, Edina, MN) and Ben Reiners (2016, Cave Creek, AZ) tried to light a comeback for MAP with each smoking a trio of singles in the game. Tiegen Lindner (2016, Sioux Falls, SD) helped with two singles and scored the only run.

Chase Geertsen (2016, Danville, CA) knocked a single and a double while touching home once. Drew Tressen (2015, Danville, CA) roped a RBI double, and Josef Spears (2016, Danville, CA) helped with a RBI single.

Team Bownet Elite defeated the ABD Bulldogs 10-4 to even their record at 1-1 in the tournament.  Arizona commit, Tyler Flores (2016, Westlake HS, CA), went 3-4 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Connor Chapman (2016, Moorpark HS, CA) added in a 2-3 day with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  

Dominique Hernandez (2015, Burroughs HS, CA) earned the win out of the bullpen tossing 1 shutout inning allowing just 1 hit and recording 2 strikeouts.  Hernandez featured a 77-80 mph fastball with a 66 mph curveball.  Hernandez also showed well at the plate going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 walk.  

For the Bulldogs, Thomas Berutto (2015, Etiwanda HS, CA) went 3-4 with 2 RBI.  Cory Konter (2015, Paraclete HS, CA) went 1-3 with 1 double and Jacob Johnson (2015, Arlington HS, CA) went 1-4 with 1 double and 1 run scored.

The Trombly Nighthawks defeated the Advanced Baseball Academy Prospects 12-1 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Andy Pascual (2015, Victor Valley HS, CA) led the way for the Nighthawks offense going 1-2 with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.  Andres Kim (2015, St Francis HS, CA) also showed well going 2-2 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Branden Becker (2015, Cajon HS, CA), an Oregon commit, added in a 2-2 day with 1 double, 3 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  UNLV commit, Austin Pritchard (2015, John W. North HS, CA), kept the big offensive day going 2-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI.

JG Baseball defeated the San Diego Show 1-0 thanks to a walk-off 7th inning run to even their record at 1-1 in this tournament.  Steve Ybarra (2016, Chino Hills HS, CA) earned the walk-off walk picking up the only RBI, stealing 1 base and earning 2 walks at the plate.  Patrick Vizcaino (2015, Don Antonio Lugo HS, CA) added in a 1-3 day with 1 run scored.  

Boone Elkins (2015, Arlington HS, CA) earned the win out of the pen tossing 1 2/3 innings allowing just 1 walk, while striking out 1 using a 75-79/80 mph fastball.  Matt Goytia (2015, Don Antonio Lugo HS, CA) started the game for JG tossing 5 1/3 1-hit innings and walked 4, while collecting an impressive 11 strikeouts.  Goytia featured a 80-85/86 mph fastball and also mixed in a 67-74 mph curveball.  

For the Show, Preston Price (2016, Cathedral Catholic HS, CA) went 6 2/3 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 2 hits and 4 walks, while recording 14 strikeouts.  Price used a 80-86/87 mph fastball with a 72-77/78 mph curveball.  

Mountain West Rolls to 6-1 Win

Mountain West jumped on the board first with two runs in the third inning and sealed the game with three in the fifth to take a 6-1 win over the Bownet Elite. Mountain West knocked in seven hits from six different players as Jake Taylor (2015, Timberline HS, ID) led the way offensively. Taylor finished 2-3 at the plate with a run scored and two stolen bases as Blake Smith (2015, Lehi HS, UT) added in two RBIs of his own. 

Nathaniel Seltsam (2015, Kearns HS, UT) took home the win for Mountain West after tossing a complete game from the mound. Seltsam tossed 87 pitches in his seven innings of work and allowed six hits and one unearned run while walking two, striking out six and logging a strike on 69 percent of his pitches with a fastball averaging 73 mph and topping out at 83 mph.

GBG Marucci Blue defeated the MVP Red Sox 6-1 in their first game of the tournament.  Max Mehlbaum (2016, William Howard Taft HS, CA) started and earned the win for GBG Marucci going 4 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 8.  Mehlbaum used a 76-81/82 mph fastball while on the mound and mixed in a 65-68 mph curveball.  

Michael Wilson (2015, Notre Dame HS, CA) led the way for the GBG Marucci offense going 2-2 with 1 triple, 1 run scored, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  Cole Henderson (2015, Redondo Union HS, CA) added in a 2-3 day with 1 double, 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base day at the plate.  Preston Gittleson (2015, Calabasas HS, CA) also showed well going 2-2 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.

Bulldogs Take Down Warriors 2-1

The CBA Bulldogs took a 2-1 win over the Warriors Baseball Academy 2016's to open up pool play. The Bulldogs knocked in seven hits from five different players with Cole Heavilin (2015, Rancho Buena Vista HS, CA) leading the way on offense. Heavilin finished 2-3 at the plate while logging an RBI and his team's only double. 

Nathan Gilman (2015, Diamond Ranch HS, CA) picked up the win for the Bulldogs after tossing the first five innings from the mound. Gilman allowed four hits and one earned run on 89 pitches while walking four and striking out six with a four-pitch rotation featuring a curveball and a fastball averaging 80 mph and topping out at 84. 

Scorpions, Elite Battle to 5-5 Tie

The 520 Elite jumped out to an early lead with a five-run burst in the second inning, but wasn't able to get on the scoreboard again as the San Diego Scorpions rallied in the final inning with three runs to force a 5-5 tie. The Scorpions won the hit battle after knocking in eight runs by five different players with Adrian Rodriquez (2015, Chula Vista, CA) leading the way on offense, finishing perfect at the plate and going 3-3 with with an RBI, two runs scored and a double. Rodriquez also pitched the first three inning for the Scorpions, tossing 28 pitches and allowing two hits and no runs or walks while striking out three and logging a strike on an astounding 86 percent of his pitches.

Team California defeated Big Island Baseball 3-2 thanks to a 2 run rally in the 6th inning.  Leadoff man, Austin Clifton (2015, Heritage HS, CA), went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Austin Gorrell (2015, John W. North HS, CA) added in a 1-3 day at the plate with 1 RBI.  

Lukas Diehm (2015, Desery Oasis HS, NV) earned the win for Team California going 3 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 1 walk, while recording 3 strikeouts.  Diehm showed a loose arm action on his 74-78/79 mph fastball and his 65-69 mph changeup.  

For Big Island Baseball, Hinale'a Cortez (2016, Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Camp HS, HI) went 2-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored for their offense.  Kobi Candaroma (2015, Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Camp HS, HI) also showed well going 2-3 and Josiah Factora (2016, Hilo HS, HI) went 1-2 with 2 RBI.

The AZ Baseball Club defeated Trombly Baseball 5-1 to pick up the first win of the tournament.  Nick Daley (2015, Mesquite HS, AZ) led the offense as he went 1-3 with 1 triple and 2 RBI.  Joseph Cilladi (2015, Mountain View HS, AZ) added in a 2-3 day at the plate with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  

Devin Bergkamp (2015, Sunnyslope HS, AZ) earned the win out of the bullpen tossing 2 1/3 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk, while striking out 1.  While on the mound, Bergkamp relied primarily on his 74-77/78 mph fastball.  Cobe Karhoff (2016, Mesquite HS, AZ) started the game and tossed 3 2/3 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 3 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 3.  Karhoff used a smooth, online delivery with his 80-83 mph fastball and mixed in a 66-68 mph curveball that flashed potential.
