PG Select Baseball Festival

Daron Sutton

In the spirit of continuing to grow the game of baseball while providing the platform for its elite players to develop and showcase their skills, Perfect Game is excited to announce the Perfect Game Select Baseball Festival. The Select Baseball Festival will take place on Labor Day Weekend, 2016, with the crown event being a game featuring the very best 14u players in North America. The game will be played on Sunday, September 4, at 7:00 p.m. EST at JetBlue Park, the Spring Training home of the Boston Red Sox, which also serves as the site for countless other PG events, including the annual Junior National and National Showcases each June.

The Select Baseball Festival rosters will consist of 36 players from North America selected based on performances at Perfect Game events, with every player that has attended a PG 14u event in 2016 considered eligible. The Sunday evening game will be broadcast live nationally, while radio play-by-play will also be part of the extensive media coverage and presentation.

Perfect Game is humbled and honored to be able to have proceeds from this event benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. GCH is the only children’s hospital between Tampa and Miami, and it provides vital healthcare for the region’s sick and injured children and their families, from infancy through age 18. There is no player participation fee for all players selected and the weekend will include an awards dinner for the athletes and their families.

Each 18-player roster for the Perfect Game Select Baseball Festival will be announced on Sunday, July 31 on MLB Roundtrip with Perfect Game, PG’s weekly radio show heard on SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio.

Perfect Game is proud to have assisted in the development of more than 800 MLB players and 40,000 college committed athletes since it was founded in 1995. All Perfect Game events are run in select compliance with Major League Baseball’s Pitch Smart initiative.
