David Yancey is a 2011 RHP/OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Kennedy. Yancey has an athletic body. He throws from a 3/4 release point, uses legs well in delivery, tilts back on leg kick, repeats delivery well, loose arm action, arm works well, slight run on fastball, solid command, solid spin on slider, 9/3 break, on side of slurvey curveball, flashed solid straight change. Also hit, solid batspeed, centers ball well, all-fields contact. Fundamentally sound in the outfield, good arm strength. Good 2-way prospect. He is a solid student.
