Ben Lewenczuk is a 2009 C/3B/OF with a 5'10'', 155 lb. frame from Marion, IA who attends Linn Mar HS. He has a smallish frame and a young look and should get stronger as he matures. Lewenczuk threw 69 mph in catching drills with a best pop time of 2.12. He has good throwing fundamentals and was consistent in his accuracy and pop times. Offensively, Lewenczuk hits out of a spread, squat stance with limited lower half involvement in his swing. He has quick hands and stays short to the ball with a line drive swing plane. His balance is good at contact and he makes solid contact to the middle of the field. Gaining more strength will be key to his development. Lewenczuk is also a good student.
