Anthony Agrusa is a 2016 RHP/3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Mission Viejo, CA who attends Laguna Hills. Medium-large frame with strong, athletic build on body. Employs long arm action with some stab when pitching, drop and drive mechanics with good usage of lower half. Pounds the strike zone with a two pitch mix of FB and SL. Fastball worked in the 70-73 range, topping at 74 with some natural cutting action. Also showed ability to run the FB a bit when thrown to arm side. SL worked in the mid 60's with solid two-plane break and good overall movement. Hits from spread stance, slightly open, and shows quick hands to and through the zone with solid bat speed. Aggressive approach to hitting, consistently hits the ball hard on a line. Waits back on balls in the infield, fields cleanly with two hands, shows soft hands as well. Throws accurately across the diamond, clocking as high as 78 MPH on throws to 1B. Very good student.
