Lala’s stuff has come a long way since he was a mid 80’s high school thrower. He still has effort to his delivery and needs to fine tune his command but he pitched at 90-92 mph with a sharp 80 mph slider.

Bergman is a big framed 6-5, 210 junior college freshman with a polished approach to pitching. His fastball touched 87 mph from an extended ¾’s release point and he showed very good feel for a sweeping curveball.
Michael Foltynewicz

“Folty” threw outstanding and had to have put himself into 1st round type consideration with his performance. He was steady 93-94 mph for his first set and flashed the power curveball that we’ve seen frequently outdoors.
Jordan Shipers
LHP - 2010 - Bethany, MO
Missouri State
Shipers pounded the strike zone at knee level with an 89-92 mph fastball that touched 93. His signature slider was big and sharp, although he didn’t have his best command of it. We’ve never seen a hitter get a good at bat against the young southpaw yet over multiple looks.
Kellen Sweeney

Sweeney was hitting against live pitching for the first time since his TJ surgery last August and looked surprisingly good with the bat. He’s also gained at least 10 pounds of very positive, well distributed muscle since last summer.
D.J. Snelten
LHP - 2010 - Ingleside, IL

Snelten looks the part at an angular 6-6, 215 lbs and has a smooth delivery and extended ¾’s release point. He sat at 88 mph on his fastball, touching 90, and threw a big sweeping curveball for strikes. His release point is perfect to add a slider in the future.
Kaleb Clark
RHP - 2010 - Baxter Springs, KS
Allen County CC
Clark has a strong and mature 6-3, 200 lb build and an equally mature delivery and approach to pitching. He threw four pitches for strikes and worked the corners very well with his upper 80’s fastball. Either of his slider, curveball or change up could develop into his second best pitch, all showed quality at times.
Clay Wallace
RHP - 2010 - Zionsville, IN

Wallace doesn’t project much at a mature and strong 6-0, 195 lbs but has three present quality pitches and command of all of them. He sat at 88-89 with his fastball, threw a nice fading change up but his best pitch was a very sharp mid 70’s curveball that was nasty at times. He should be an immediate winner at the college level.
Jonathan Musser
RHP - 2010 - Waukee, IA

Musser’s delivery and command gets better every time we see him and his 6-5, 205 lb build is very projectable. He sat at 86-88 mph and showed good depth on a sharp 73 mph curveball.
Bobby Juan
OF - 2010 - La Crosse, WI
Minnesota
Juan is a tall and angular 6-3, 200 lb left handed hitter. He has a tall, well balanced hitting approach and a smooth, strong swing. He hit the ball hard to all fields and his bat stays on plane with the ball for a long time. Juan should hit right away at the next level with his approach and tools.
Conor Fisk
RHP - 2010 - Brown Deer, WI
University of Southern Mississippi/Wabash Valley College
Fisk is a big bodied athlete with a very loose and fast arm. He sat at 90 mph on a big tailing 2-seam fastball and touched 92 mph. Fisk also flashed good tight spin on his curveball, although he needs more consistency with this pitch.

The 6-0, 210 lb King has a fast paced, deceptive delivery and a fastball that topped out at 87 mph. His out pitch was a big, hard breaking curveball that will give left handed hitters nightmares when he learns how to command it better.
Matthew Linderer
RHP - 2010 - St. Louis, MO
Missouri
Linderer is a slender 6-2, 175 lb right hander with a very sound and easy delivery and arm action. He painted the corners with a very live mid-80’s fastball and we’ve seen him throw harder in the past. Hitters don’t get very good swings against him even as he pounds the strike zone.
Anthony (AJ) Gaura
RHP - 2010 - Suamico, WI

The 6-6, 210 lb Gaura pitched in the 83-85 mph range but hides the ball very well and his late moving fastball jumps on hitters. Both his change up and curveball were good pitches and he pounded the strike zone with all three offerings.
Sawyer Smith
C - 2010 - Dexter, MO
Palm Beach Atlantic
Sawyer has a broad shouldered and strong build at 6-3, 205 lbs but has very quiet hands receiving the ball and very good footwork fundamentals. He has a busy power oriented approach at the plate that can be toned down but the ball jumps very hard on contact.
Trevor Kenyon
3B - 2010 - Davenport, IA
Iowa/Central Arizona CC
Kenyon has a strong, mature hitter’s body and a nice aggressive swing that we’ve seen steadily develop over the last three years. He took some of his best swings against the top velocity pitchers at the event and hit the ball hard.
Greg Fettes
C - 2011 - Madison Heights, MI
Kentucky
Fettes was the best catcher at the showcase and one of the best hitters as well. He has a very mature, quiet set up behind the plate and receives balls effortlessly. His strength gives him very good bat speed and he makes consistent hard contact with a short swing path to the ball.
Danny Heim
RHP - 2011 - St Louis, MO
Wabash Valley College
Heim has a solid 5-11, 185 lb athletic body and an outstanding delivery that enables him to throw four quality pitches for strikes. He touched 90 mph on his fastball but his upper 70’s slider was his strikeout pitch. Heim’s combination of command and stuff will make him very successful.
Dakota Freese

Freese looks like he’s developing feel and maturity on the mound to go with his promising raw stuff. He mixed up an 88 mph 4 seam fastball with a sinking 85 mph 2-seamer and worked both sides of the plate effectively.
Ryan Bull
C - 2011 - Eden Prairie, MN
Notre Dame
Bull is a rock solid 6-1, 200 lbs but is quick and athletic behind the plate and a very good blocker and quiet receiver. He has power in his bat and drives the ball hard to the middle of the field and the gaps.
Brandon Platts
RHP - 2011 - Mason City, IA
Missouri
The 6-4, 210 Platts has a very strong, durable body that he uses well in his delivery. He throws a very heavy sinking fastball in the 85-88 mph range and hitters will have a very hard time getting the ball in the air off him. Platts’ slider showed potential as a solid second pitch.
Braden Shull
LHP - 2011 - Mt. Pleasant, IA

Schull is a 6-4, 200 lb southpaw with a loose, projectable body and a smooth, under control delivery. He pitched at 84-86 mph with good command and flashed good spin on a soft slider. He’s just scratching the surface of his potential.
Andrew Hedrick
LHP - 2011 - Polk City, IA

Hedrick is a young looking and athletic 6-0, 165 lb southpaw with a loose and quick arm. He was steady in the 84-86 mph range with good late life and should add plenty of velocity with more strength.
Lance Jeffries

The 5-9, 180 lb Jefferies showed surprising raw power and bat speed for his size and does an excellent job of using his lower half to generate power in his swing. He looks like a quick twitch athlete and we’re anxious to see him play outside as soon as possible.
Lucas Long
RHP - 2011 - Minneapolis, MN

Long had a very consistent delivery and release point and very consistent stuff he threw for strikes. His fastball was steady at 85-87 mph with good life, his knuckle curveball hard and tight and he showed good confidence in his changeup for a young pitcher.
Taylor Wallace
RHP - 2012 - Maumelle, AR

Wallace is very young but was one of the most advanced pitchers at the event. He has an outstanding delivery that he repeats very well, enabling him to paint with all three of his pitches. Wallace’s changeup is a potential plus pitch and he’s sure to gain velocity from his present 84-86 mph.
Jonathan Harris
RHP - 2012 - Florissant, MO
Missouri State
The 6-2, 155 lb Harris may end up being the best prospect from this event in a couple of years. He is very young looking and slender but has a buttery smooth arm action and a present 84 mph fastball. Both his curveball and slider were very sharp at times and he showed feel for his change up.
Brett Sunde
C - 2012 - Royal Oak, MI

Sunde has a compact and strong 5-10, 190 lb build for his age and outstanding skills as well. He squared up the ball more consistently than any hitter at the event. He uses his quick twitch athleticism to block every ball behind the plate and has a definite maturity about his approach to the game.
Kevin Phillips
C - 2012 - University City, MO

Phillips a young 6-1, 200 lb receiver with long arms and a strong lower half. He showed quality tools both behind the plate and at bat and should continue to improve as he fills out his upper half.
Zach Arnold
C - 2012 - Frankfort, KY
Kentucky
The 6-2, 175 lb Arnold is the most physically projectable of the three outstanding 2012 catchers at the event. He had a very polished and patient approach at the plate, with the ability to lay off borderline pitches but aggressively attack balls in his hitting zone.
