2010 Top Prospects

Braden Shipley  RHP - 2010 - Medford, OR
Western Nevada College

Shipley is a quality 2-way prospect with loads of Division I quality tools on both sides of the ball. His best ceiling appears to be on the mound, where he topped out at 90 mph with a hard spinning mid 70’s curveball, but the 6-1, 170 lb athlete can hit as well.

Aaron Slegers  RHP - 2010 - Scottsdale, AZ
Uncommitted

Slegers’ imposing 6-8, 225 lb frame gets immediate attention and his athleticism (and thus his projection) is obvious in his clean pitching mechanics and command. Slegers topped out at 85 mph with a good curveball/change up combination.

Hunter Zwart  OF - 2010 - Cottonwood, AZ
Arizona Western College

Zwart combines good speed (6.88) and good strength that results in some nice bat speed. He looked like he had a good idea how to hit and the ball came off his bat hard.

Brian Gustafson  C - 2010 - Silverdale, WA
Tacoma CC

Gustafson was the best defensive player at the showcase and brings polish and maturity, along with solid tools, to a premium defensive position.

Bobby Burns  C - 2010 - Las Vegas, NV
Uncommitted

Burns big tool is his bat, as he combines very good bat speed with a power approach that plays in games. His athleticism is plenty up to catching at the next level but he’ll need some fundamental work first.

Matthew Bass  C - 2010 - Wylie, TX
Uncommitted

Bass lacks some size at 5-11, 165 but he’s very fundamentally sound on both offense and defense and his offensive ability is intriguing on a young catcher who should keep improving.

Adam Coggan  2B - 2010 - Alameda, CA
Chapman University

Coggan hit very well in the games with multiple hits showing good hand strength and quickness.
